I don't think anybody on this site realise that no new signings will take place until the first of July, even free transfers. All players contracts are valid until the end of June. (even season long loans) Ryan Fredricks move to West Ham is not valid until the 1st July as even he's contract doesn't run out until the end of June. You will see all new signings take place at the end of the month. I'm sure Mitro's price has already been agreed and will be actioned at the of Serbia's world cup run. (early next month). Just be patient and wait and see. Looking forward to the new season. COYW.

Gary Lineker paid Mitrovic more compliments, and say's that 2o million for Mitro is chicken feed. His price will go up for sure, and maybe we should have signed him up well before the World cup. The one consolation is, Serbia were beaten by the Swiss and they need a result against Brazil. I don't know the ins and outs of the transfer window, but Fulham always drag their heels when signing players. We might well have Mitrovic on board secretly? I wouldn't be surprised that we missed out signing him because we held back too long. Khan doesn't need to get his personal check-book out to sign Mitro and a few others. We won a Wembley final which was worth 180 mill? Surely we can afford a few stars in a sweet shop. Come on board''' We are in the prem now, do lets secure mitro and other loanees for starters!
Replies
I beleive Newcastle are waiting to see how Mitro performs in the world cup before selling. If Serbia don't reach the last 16. The price will probably be less than if they do.

FFS you lot let things take their natural course. Do you honestly think Tony Kahn is just sitting around doing sweet FA and not actively involved in dealings right now? Course he isn't. This guy is a well smart cookie, I mean biscuit and I can guarantee you that a huge amount of discussions and negotiations are well advanced at this very moment to bring in players. You cannot expect deals to be announced now or at any time until the WC is over so just chill and enjoy the feeling of being back in the Prem. And/or have a Nat West.

Why do we still have doubts on the board? While shahid committed to spend money to compete, I don’t think he promised to go crazy. Let’s wait until end of July before making a judgement call on the board. With the window closing early and World Cup in the way, there will be a lot of deals done in a very short space of 2-3 weeks, and in the mean time, clubs are agreeing dealings in principle, subject to players (who they don’t want to distract) agreeing. Let’s wait and see. As usual the club will bring a few surprises from far afield!

Marbella, Tony Khan was the one who got his friend Kline in. Apart from wanting to sumo wrestle Jokanovic, Kline was responsible for the rubbish transfers that ruined the first 3-4 months of last season until he was finally removed & Jokanovic pulled the Khan's chestnuts out of the fire. What is is it about these facts that makes you think Tony Khan is a smart cookie rather than a silly rich mans son ?
posted by Ollie (Guest) - Saturday 23rd June 2018, 11:44 AM

Khan got rid of Kline when he realised he was a not cut out for the job. Khan senior is certainly not stupid and would not put his son in the hot seat if he thought he wasn't capable. I go back to my comments about people panicking and getting frustrated as it not necessary. If this carries on Chris and I will have to start up a joke thread

Guy's, put jokes aside for a minute! Gary Lineker did make a comment about Mitrovics fee. He thinks it should be more than 20 million. I suspect the Fulham hierarchy will already be taking care of business behind the scenes, but those comments don't help our cause. Buying loan players and keeping a balance situation around budgets, it's very delicate. We are in the prem now and it is where we want to be, but we must not over-commit on transfer fees, and i imagine that there is a top limit on wages etc. It is a tough one to balance, and i imagine that a top wage of 40 grand in the prem is a paltry sum in these top players bank accounts. Fulham will need to up their wage structure for sure, and i don't envy those guys that make these decisions. Back to the Mitrovic situation, where does he go after the World cup? Our system suits him, and he suits us and that is plain to see. If Mitro chooses a bigger club and a bigger wage than we can possibly pay him, might be a big mistake for Mitrovic. His Serbian connection along with Slavisa at the helm could be a match made in heaven. I hope he recognises these details and stay with Fulham, we can only hope so.I hope we take a 2nd look at Shaqui, he would fit in with Fulham. Not sure if his Albanian celebrations would go down well with Slavisa. Take politics out of football, and we could move on better. Fulham need to take a punt on some big name characters now we are in the premiership. If we want to consolidate our position and stay in the prem? We need to bolster our squad with players like shaqui from Stoke. We have a core of players like Macdonald that are Fulham through and through, but i feel that we must take a chance and bring in 2 big name characters. This way,we really get up to speed fast, and hit the prem running. I am not worried about our slow and none eventful effort in the transfer market, i know how we work at Fulham. I like everybody else, is excited to see who we sign on the dotted line. No doubt it will be soon...

Is west ham way of solving their football style problem by buying all our players? If they want Cairney come back with £40-50m! Grealish is rumoured to worry £30-40m. Maddison is £35m . Cairney is the best of the three and we turned down £30m last season so what makes West Ham think we’d accept £20m for him! Piss off West Ham! If you want our captain put £45m on the table we might then have a conversation!

What are we waiting for?
Replies
If I t was all down to Khan , don't you think he'd be a Fulham player by now. Mitrovic said after the Wembley final he will see what he wants to do after the World Cup. Meaning he wants to see if he attracts better offers. It's not a point of getting a cheque book out.

5 goals from 30 games not prolific and 30 years of age ? if we are playing a 2 up front, a big guy to hold the ball and someone to stick it in wouldn't Deaney and Mitrovic mean we have 2 big guys and no out and out striker. I would prefer someone like Bobby Reid how much would he cost ?

Agree can’t play both is only a option if can’t get Mitrovic over the line and feel Jokanovic can get best out of him not ideal but not many players today that can hold ball up like them two which goes with our style

I've always had time for Troy because he's a trier and passionate about winning. His goal scoring record, though, has dried up, but Jok could rejuvenate him with a new challenge being the spur. My World cup hat tells me that Mitro is not going to come cheap, and he maybe out of our price range if Newcastle decide to sell him. But time will tell.

I wouldn't base anything on how a player plays at the world cup. In years gone by the world cup was where we would see players from south america, Africa and eastern Europe for the first time now there are no surprises. If the world cup was all we based our purchases on then I have seen 2 Argentina games and there No 10 is very ordinary !!!!!

Much as I am reluctant to get involved in a political debate on a football forum, I would like to just say one thing about Thatcher. You don’t have to be a leftie to dislike or even hate this woman. She crossed the line and treated people like human garbage. Disliking the woman is as much a moral issue as a political one. And as for reining in Putin she would probably be very much at home in his social circle.

Is it me or are there quite a lot of doom mongers on this board? Some people seem to think there is a hidden agenda with Khan but I can't think why? People are getting uptight about the lack of signings, but how many other clubs are really busy in the market currently? A few but not many. We should all still be celebrating going up and have trust and faith in the people that has got us there as well as a little patience in my opinion.

Quite right, if you are just looking for a opportunity to see your team play then you can go to see them in training matches for a few quid or free against the second team or under 21's. But if you have the opportunity of seeing not only your team but also a team of players you could see otherwise and would want to as a football fan like Real Madrid , Barcelona or Juventus then yes you should pay for that. Its a music concert and you pay to go to rehearsals or the sound check.

Just where could our Jack end up? What do you guys think about him? Good for Fulham, or not? I think we probably will have a good chance of securing his services considering where we are on location. I can't see Wiltshire venturing up north. I would be worried about his fitness, and why does he get injured so often? Could we improve his fitness and get him playing regular football every week at Fulham? I was thinking about Grealish to be honest, but Wiltsheres situation is that he is available on a free, and that might be music to the chairman's ears. I wouldn't mind Wiltshere coming on board, and it would be interesting to pair him up with the likes of Cairney and Johansen in midfield. There is one bit of good news if we get Wiltshire, and that simply means that Fulham can invest harder into the transfer market for a top striker to go with Mitrovic. Freebie Wiltshire could be viable option for us. Bring it on i say...

Remember he would be a free transfer so if we went out an bought a 26 year old international midfielder on a 4 year contract for £10 - £12 million and paid them £40K a week or £2 million a year you would say it was a bargain That deal would cost Fulham £20 million over 4 years which is the same as giving him £100K a week and they could get him for less I think. If a player is coming to a team without a transfer fee they would expect to be paid more look a Fredrick's at West ham.

Jack wilshire would certainly suit our style of play & bring something good to the team. But he would be expecting premier league wages even on a free. I believe premiership success for our owner is having the smallest wage bill & transfer budget in the prem. I'm told by a U.S friend that this is what happens at Jacksonville ( wembley ? ) Jaguars. I'm told "rookie" players are paid relatively low wages for a period of time, then receive a big payrise if they stay at the club. My friend says Khan likes rookie rates more than all/most of the other owners & players are often/usually moved on when pay rises are due. Any U.S. fans know whether this is true ( my friend can be a wind up merchant )?

Yes Ollie, Khan has been known to be the stingiest owner in the NFL. Last season the Jags took advantage of an easy schedule and quick player development by their young players to get in the playoffs. It remains to be seen if he'll invest to keep them there or take the next step to shoot for a title. A big problem for him is Jax is the smallest market in the NFL so additional revenue streams are limited and the house is rarely full on Sunday. Is he cheap or solely focused on sustainability we all can judge. I'm happy he made the investment to get us up. Due to his history here, I'm worried he'll do what it takes to keep us up. He's a billionaire, but not very liquid, especially if he's going for Wembley.

Just wondering who we could go for if Mitro doesn't come for that sort of money. Fellani is a free agent but are we to small? just wonder what sort of a player we could attract as the lure of London has always been big attraction with a transfer to a young man with wife and earning lots of money as if you are earning £100K+ you want to be in Paris, Madrid , Munich ,Rome or London. Manchester ,Liverpool or Newcastle are great places for a weekend but cant compare with true great cities of the world which London is.

Fellini is a dirty player - we don’t want that at Fulham. Even if he cut that out, he’s too slow and cannot play the fluid football we want. He does more back passes than forward. As nothing much seems to be happening at FFC - at least not reported - time to take a break and assess England's chances of progressing out of their group. Our last minute victory against Tunisia should see us progress to the last sixteen, as Panama are beatable whatever our team, and our match against Belgium would just be fight for group leaders. If Southgate was any half-decent manager he should ring the changes against Belgium - but will he? In the last 16 either of the qualifiers matched against us are beatable so we'll make the quarters - and that's it. I can't see us beating any of those qualifying teams in E or F, they're too experienced and we're not anywhere near them. Based on our game yesterday, we'll be slaughtered if we don't up our game plan.

John, Southgate has had months preparing the squad for the WC (not really a pun, but appropriate based on our performance against Panama). Because he fiddles while Russia burns, the squad do not know their respective jobs in whatever format he selects. Hence the lack of cohesion. We saw Sterling and Lingard running like headless chickens into dead ends, Young and Alli drifting about, and Trappier not being able to consistently kick the ball into dangerous positions at set pieces. I consider FFC would have beaten Panama on that night.

Eddie, Understanding who we are playing is Southgate's only achievement in football. He's only qualification is being the F.A's yes man. As I've said before, he's a football version of Liam from Benidorm.

Not really my point just saying at least he knew we were playing Tunisia. Yes, I was getting ahead of myself, although I don't rate Panama or Tunisia as being World Cup class. I'm being realistic in that England played well below their collective talents and, IMO, that has got to be down to Southgate's preparation methods and selection in that we mostly had a team of headless chickens running around the park. Apart from Maguire, Stones, and sometimes Henderson, Kane and Walker - there's not one other player that looked remotely like composed and knew what was expected of him. Having said that, we are good enough to reach the quarters, which will probably satisfy the FA and Southgate.
posted by stephen terry (Guest) - Thursday 21st June 2018, 2:41 AM

My team selection to beat Belgium - forget Panama, Southgate could pick himself even with a dislocated shoulder and still win whatever team he puts out - Rose instead of Young, Dier instead of Alli, Alexander-Arnold instead of Trippier, Rashford instead of Sterling, and Vardy instead of Lingard. If none of them rise to the challenge we won't go further than the quarters. Okay - why? None of my replaced players knew what their job was apart from Trippier, who was given a role that made him a poor image of Beckham. Most of his crosses from set pieces were dismal, although credit for the cross that lead to Kane's goal and which saved Southgate from a media roasting. As for Sterling and Lingard, Rashford and Vardy are streets ahead, and A-A should be given a chance to shine at right back amongst more experienced players, by moving Walker up to midfield. Why that move? Because Belgium play a lot down the left side, and we counter that by having one defensive and one attacking player to hold them up.

Dont kid yourselves. That was an absolutely headless and pathetic performance. There wasnt one single england player with basic dribbling capacity. At FFC we actually have more talent at a thousandth of the price. The problem isnt that we nearly didnt win, the problem is that if thats the best the country can offer then some serious consideration must be given to the roots of our football. Yes, Khan do us all a favour ,buy wembley and make the FA invest in the kids.

Why do England managers keep picking Sterling, he's a lightweight at International level and will never make it outside the EPL? Kane deserves his place for the next match by scoring twice, but not world class as some would say. Trappier is not in David Beckham's class, is he? Alli wasn't at the races, nor was Young, and Lingard missed so many chances he's better off playing park football. Stones deserves his place and so does Maguire. Pickford still learning at this level, Walker nearly cost us the match, otherwise had a good game, and Henderson splayed several excellent passes, he deserves another game.

And Southgate isn't Mourinho is he? Just as bad as previous England managers in not reacting to the situation quicker. Should have taken off Sterling and Lingard on the hour mark with Rashford and Vardy, and also Dier for Alli sooner. I rate Vardy to score against anyone, he's a lot sharper than Kane and miles better than Lingard.

Er, yes you did miss something - the players' performances, which had ZERO cohesion. Southgate has no idea how to build a TEAM - he's trying out various format permutations which totally confuses the squad as to how they should play. It was terrible just looking at it after the initial 15 frantic minutes had settled down. headless chickens, IMO. Wait until we meet Belgium, and see if we win that one - which we won't if we play like that.

This current England team seem to be copping the flack for years of under achievement by their predecessors. I have never heard such a miserable doom laden bunch of supporters as so many on line so called England fans. And that’s after winning the first game and putting ourselves into a great position to qualify for the next stage. I am not saying we are world beaters but can we at least keep the moans and groans on hold until we do actually cock it up. Many teams start slowly the trick is to get that all important first win, The squad is picked we cannot change a thing so why not do what the majority of opposing supporters seem capable of doing. Enjoy the ride and hope for the best. Surly All you guys in the know that are so certain of our ultimate demise should see anything other than defeat as bonus.

Sorry still have my doubts about Mitrovic. Great in the Championship when making the most of Ryan Sessegon's workrate but I think Rafa may have a point. Missed two real chances in Serbria first gamne in Russia. Maybe £9 or £9 million and take a chance but £20 mill would be like better on the Green 0 to come up as far as I'm concerned and YES I know he's only 23 years old and can develope

His hold up play and passing was still good worked hard great fighting attitude strikers will always miss chances.20m sounds a lot to me because lm getting on But is it into days silly market if he took them chances would have been talking 25 to30m let’s hope he missed loads more in World Cup we get him for 10m and he can’t stop scoring for us

I understand your comments RoC and I guess Benitez believes similar of Mitrovic which is why he was let out on loan. Mitrovic however suits our style of play superbly and he seems to work very well with Slavisa. Would he score goals in the Premier League, definitely yes with the right service; will he get that service, not sure? I think £20m is about right for him at the moment. Would you want to pay much more...probably not but what else is out there for that price? I think if we do get him we will have to pay at least £20m with add ons up to £25m. Of course, he might have the World Cup lag effect which isn't going to be great for the start of our season.

Just because he missed a couple of easy chances in the World Cup does not mean he is not premiership level. Messi missed a penalty! Look at the goals he got for us last season, I still think he would have scored most of those goals had the opportunities had been presented to him in the premier. £20m is a steal when comparing to the prices quoted for Maddison and Chambers!
posted by Chris (Guest) - Monday 18th June 2018, 12:43 PM

Hope he misses more otherwise the price will go up. Its not just his scoring we need but his strength in holding the ball is excellent.

Apart from Chris Wood (£15 Million ) and Glen Murray, to buy a striker who scored over 10 goals last year in the premiership was going to cost over £50 million. Dwight Gayle was offered for £25 million. So anything less than £20 million looks like good business.

Rich' we are knocking the players that got us this far again. Don't you think we should give them a chance? Mitrovic came in January, and how many more goals would he have scored through the whole season of last year? There aren't many strikers around that can get us 20 goals for the price of 2o million. I would be happy with Mitro and the addition of 1 more striker who is more mobile and pacier. We have Kamara also and Kabano and Aite. I know you may not be excited about our chances with these players in the prem, but i would say that the bottom 8 won't pull any trees up in my opinion. Would you like to swop Mitrovic for Benteke??? I would rather keep Mitrovic. I don't see the point of pulling our team that got us up apart. We were happy about the Wembley result and now we are picking holes in our squad. Lets all wait and see who Slavisa adds to our squad first. Fulham are a fantastic team with fantastic players, and i think each one will have something to add. They will all know how important it will be to perform to their best, even Piazon. What would we do with Kamara? Give u on him? He is an improver, and it would be dangerous to give him away on a wim. Go with this team and wait for additions guy's, i have a good fealing about our chances in this prem...

We have an excellent group of players in optimum condition with higher expectations in the prem than most promoted teams. Yes, a few additions are required but only the essential. Anybody who was and went obviously cannot be expected to give their all (except mullery). Im still enjoying our promotion if our XI vs c-palace is the same as the wembley XI, then a mid table finish should be assured. COYW

Marbella' he didn't have a particularly good game against Costa Rica, but that can be explained. Tiredness and fatigue could be a factor now because Mitrovic has been on the go none stop since he signed for us in jan. My spin on the situation is that if we get him for 20 mill? Mitro will need a month off to be ready for the prem anyway. We will need another big name striker with more pace than mitro in my opinion, and we have Kamara as a 3rd striker. Players like Ronaldo get extra time off after world cups, and i think that our prem boys get a raw deal in that department. Saying that, a lot of people will beg to differ about footballers having time off.

We are in the prem now, and our young squad needs experience around them. We are trying to do what Barca do in their league, and apart from pressing the game a wee bit slow for my liking sometimes, we ain't too bad. If there was a player like Iniesta about? I would love him at Fulham. We don't have to fear anybody in the premiership, because we can keep the ball. 2 or 3 more additions on top of what we have will do nicely thank-you. We are a young and improving quad, and we have a few players that are well capable of stepping up to the plate, so let's do it when the curtain is open, and as the saying is, 'float like a butterfly, sting like a bee' that should be our introduction to the premiership. Somebody said that Slavisa is over there commentating on the World Cup? He has every intention and ambition to nurture our style. For sure we will get the occasional hammering, but we will learn. I don't think we will do what Leicester did a few years ago, but nevertheless, we are a young team, and well capable of competing at this level. Lets start to believe in our team a little bit more...

Looking at our fixtures certainly brings on frightening premonitions, but it is not as if we have not been here before, although I must admit under a different coach(Manager)I have every confidence that we will hold our own in the PL, but of course we must be prepared to lose a fair proportion of our matches, but then again, so will most of the bottom 10 teams, of which no doubt we will be one. Providing that we strengthen our squad, with a couple of experienced players, and I am sure that we will, as Slavisa isn't stupid, and there must be things going on behind the scenes even as we speak, to bring players in. So let's all look forward to our new challenge, as after all we were the second best, or maybe even the best, side to come out of the Championship for sometime. COYW

Marbella' A lot of fans are giving their opinion on who they think is capable of taking the team forward into the premier league. The Wembley euphoria has barely died down, and already we are picking holes in the team. I want all our players who were involved in this promotion to be given a chance. Piazon seems to be the biggest liability at the moment. I think he should be given a chance on his form earlier on in the season, and even earlier on from his leg break. 8 million between him and Kalas, if the deal goes through is not a bad deal. We need to bolster our squad, and Piazon will be decent along with Fonte in certain games that suit. If the likes of Jednak for Austrailia can perform like that against France, our squad will be okay in the prem. Fonte's brother who nobody rates, played okay for Portugal who drew against Spain, and that was the beat game of the tournament for me. It is all a matter of opinion on who is good enough for the prem. Slavisa will make that call in the end anyway. The likes of Floyde Aite seems to be one of the fall guys at the moment, but Slavisa likes him a lot. I will agree that Floyde has not performed to his best, especially in front of goals. He did have a few niggly injuries last season, and i think that Slavisa made a wrong call in playing him through the play-offs. He was dropped for the final and rightly so, but he is a good player, and we need a bigger squad. 20 million on mitro, and buying most of our loan players who slav wants to keep will dig into our budget big time. We will also need to buy another Striker i think. That will mean a rotation of Mitrovic/new striker/ and Kamara/ which is excellent, because we have the additions of Fonte/Kabano/Aite/ what can operate as wingers which is decent. Our back 4 will need another central defender to help Reamy and co. We could also do with someone like a Grealish to operate with Cairney and co. That makes us top '10' and that's me being optimistic. I don't see Fulham as relegation fodder, there are worst teams hanging on in the prem year after year...

Why stop there, let’s go for the Championship and then maybe get a change of citizenship for the whole squad and go for the 2022 World Cup. Give the guy (and the Khan's in general ) a break, we're back in "the promised land" so simply ENJOY the next year or two or three or ................... We've endured the many difficult days and nights against also rans (I'm thinking in particular of the FA cup night v Sheff Utd in the pi**ing cold and wet when we lost in the 119th minute under Mulenstein!!!) so now it's time to get back "into bed" with the big boys. Some games we'll lose but others we'll win, lets get things in perspective though, as long as we have two Scots in the team (TC and big Kev) we'll be ok (Mitro, Stefan and Ryan would also be of great assistance!). Let's get this messageboard thinking more positively and forward thinking, the past is the past and MAF, etc. is no longer, lets get behind the family that took us to Wembley (what a day!) and who are taking us back there in a couple of months. It's about time that more people expressed the sentiment "thank you Shahid" rather than expressing how he should best spend his dough. COYW

We've got where we wanted to be, so now we have to establish ourselves in the EPL for many seasons to come. That does mean we have to refresh our squad every summer transfer window, particularly this summer. We are restricted to 4 loan players at any one time in the EPL, so we most likely have to buy. There's no getting away from the fact that last season's team does need strength in depth cover. We were extremely fortunate not to lose our key players to injuries in our magnificent run to Wembley, and a couple of injuries could cost us dearly. We should have matched Fredericks terms level with Cairney for a start. £40k a week is peanuts in the EPL. Alternatively we could have swopped him for a back up defender - anything but sell him off cheap to West Ham (who will be one of our main rivals in mid table).

Come on Tony Khan get Costa

It's not rocket science to work out where Chelsea went wrong. Swopping Costa for Morata was a huge mistake! Costa has turned into a more smooth and slick operator now, he used to put it about a bit, and he is more than a penalty box player. His first goal was sublime, pure quality. In fact the whole game and goals were top draw. England will need to up their game against that lot. There might only be 2 teams in that Spanish league, but nobody can say or dispute that our league is superior, it isn't...

A man sees a sign outside a house: 'Talking Dog For Sale'....He rings the bell, the owner appears and tells him the dog can be viewed in the back garden. The man sees a very nice looking Black Labrador Retriever sitting there. "Do you really talk?" He asks the dog. "Yes!" The Labrador replies. After recovering from the shock of hearing the dog talk, he man asks, "So, tell me your story!" The Labrador looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I joined the SAS. "In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one imagined that a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years, But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at Heathrow to do some undercover security work, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded several medals. I got married, had a few puppies, and now I've just retired!" The man is amazed. He goes back into the house and asks the owner how much he wants for the dog. "Ten quid!" The owner says. "£10? But this dog is absolutely amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?" "Because he's a lying git. He's never been out of the garden!"

A Brentford fan, a Fulham fan and a Chelsea fan were all in Saudi Arabia, sharing a smuggled crate of booze. All of a sudden Saudi police rushed in and arrested them. The mere possession of alcohol is a severe offence in Saudi Arabia, so for the terrible crime of actually being caught consuming the booze, they were sentenced to death! However, after many months and with the help of very good lawyers, they were able to successfully appeal their sentence down to life imprisonment. By a stroke of luck, it was a Saudi national holiday the day their trial finished, and the extremely benevolent Sheikh decided they could be released after receiving just 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Sheikh suddenly said: “It’s my first wife’s birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping". The Chelsea fan was first in line (he had drunk the least), so he thought about this for a while and then said: Please tie a pillow to my back”. This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes before the whip went through. The Chelsea fan had to be carried away bleeding and crying with pain when the punishment was done. The Brentford fan was next up (he almost finished a half-can), and after watching the scene, said: “Choice! Please fix two pillows on my back". But even two pillows could only take 15 lashes before the whip went through again. The Fulham fan was the last one up (he had finished off the crate), but before he could say anything, the Sheikh turned to him and said: “You are from a most beautiful part of the world, your city has some of the best and most loyal football fans in the world. For this, you may have two wishes!” “Thank you, your Most Royal and Merciful highness”, The Fulham fan replies. “In recognition of your kindness, my first wish is that you give me not 20, but 100 lashes” “Not only are you an honourable, handsome and powerful man, you are also very brave. “The Sheik says with an admiring look on his face. “If 100 lashes is what you desire, then so be it. And your second wish? What is it to be?” the Sheik asks. “Please tie the Brentford fan to my back”

I do hope the management of our club have not forgotten that the summer 2018 transfer window closes on the 9 August in just 8 weeks time. The only transfer Fulham have been involved with was the loss of a half decent full back to West Ham (can't even say his name) who used Fulham for his own purposes. Hope he likes the atmosphere at the London Stadium. How they expect fans to comit to the hike in prices to what our side in the Premiership without at least securing the services of those who played for us last term i.e. including our loan players. Are they planning to leave it again to the last minute and sign a whole load of unknown players from minor leagues in Europe. If so we'll be in for a swift return to the Championship and lose our best players. Figures out Fulham. Forget the world cup....

Sort of agree and disagree with Rich. I think it's important to get signings done early, especially the proven players like Mitrovic and Targett. But, at the same time, it's important not to rush any brand new signings. Kostas(a-lot-us) and Steve Marlet, for example, were exciting at the time, but didn't achieve a great deal...
posted by Dan (Guest) - Friday 15th June 2018, 9:55 AM

We probably got the luckiest break when Mitro's move to Europe fell through at the eleventh hour. This move without doubt got us to the playoff final and the huge funds for winning. If we cannot find the money to pay a fair price for him, especially as everybody and his dog wants him to come to Fulham. Let's tie it up and not fall at the last minute and then have to struggle for a second rater striker at the lastminuteplayer.com end of window scenario. I have a hunch we will tie up the deal by early next week, if not, ????
posted by Lucky Break (Guest) - Friday 15th June 2018, 11:06 AM

Mitrovic was a brilliant Championship player for us but because he is unproven in the Premiership we should pay less than the £20m asking price after all Ashley only paid £14.5M for him and Benitez doesn't rate him . The 2 people in the world I would not like to deal with over transfers are Daniel Levy and Mike Ashley so hope FFC play hard ball !

Say what you like whiled Cardiff and Wolves have both signed players for the next season no new face at Craven Cottage and we have not even sewn up the loan players we had last season to get us into the Premiership. I thought that could be done and dusted before the end of last season if we wanted them permanently - bish bash bosh! The season waits for no man.
