I'm not sure if 28 is an oldie ! Anyway it looks a good start now we need a creatIve midfielder a fast forward and make sure Schwarzer signs up for another couple of years

so mr amorebata claims to have said ;he is impressed by the talent at ffc, did they not show him around cfc by mistake.is there script for new players? now, accadamy kids no mention yet what jol will do with them, can we not find just one star in what has been described as the best in the prem league.? funny thing is in the old we had no accadamy and yet Haynes tosh mullery cohen marsh, even robson was only 17, McDonald les barret macedo all came in as juniors jezzard also was very young and quite local so how did that happen when we cant find one player that has had buckets of dosh spent on them?

jol dont spend money on a player unlesss it will improve the team...so many free agents that can do a job available this summer...fulham are nt a rich club but we are on top of the league for points per pounds spent. so jol is doing an excellent job, you cant blame him for nt signing players cos he cant really gamble when u dont have any money...and hes been doing miracles in the transfer windows...and believe me i think hes got a few tricks up his sleeve for the summer. amorebieta will improve the defnse so much and boatend is so underated i remember him playing in the world cup coming as a substiute and completely dominating the midfield

It looks like Shay Given is going to be released by Villa. He has 3 or 4 years left in him. Would he be a good replacement for Schwarzer? You need experience to play in goal in the Premier League, so I think Stockdale is too young for it.
Replies
Was once a great keeper. I wonder if his appetite for the game has dwindled?
Still, another free would interest FFC.

Had a bad Euro 2012, but was injured for that. That is really the last time he has played. Just hearing also, that Richard Dunne is being released by Villa and James McClean may be available from Sunderland Might not be bad signings either?

I think even Lionel Messi would look shit playing alongside our current team of no-hopers. Let's sack the whole fucking lot of them and start again-from league 2 if necessary. PS Does anyone else remember MAF calling us the Man Utd of the South ??? What a sick joke that is.

I think that you could have made your point without the profanities to be honest!

Ever since Kevin Keegan was managing Newcastle, everyone has "to be honest". What an overworked and meaningless phrase, particularly in the worlds of football and politics!

While I'm preaching, I suggest it's time for us all to cut back on the rhetoric. We have survived, so let's relax and start again. Surely we all want the club to do well and that means giving FFC maximum support and encouragement.

Like it or not, we will have Jol and his boys for at least 1 more year. In the past couple of days there are reports showing the club is doing something. Not everyone will agree with the new players but then, it isn't our money.

Never a Carlton Cole fan, I can see FFC picking him up, too. Once a decent striker who might benefit from a change of scenerey and would be cheaper than the likes of Darren Bent. How about Cole in, Rodellega and Petric out?

We've not had a great season as we all know. But i'm already on the verge of optimism with us moving early in the transfer window. Boateng doesnt really excite, but no doubt he will add depth for when sidwell gets sent every 3 or 4 games. I also think we missed Diarra this season, he gave us some stability in the middle. However, Amorebieta looks a very promising signing. We desperately need a new CB seeing as senderos and Hughesy just dont really cut it. Transfer target for Arsenal and will be considered a big blow for the Bilbao team that knocked out United. Maybe Martin has a few tricks up his sleeves this summer.
Replies
I AGREE WITH YOU EXCEPT BOATENG.HE WILL BE GOOD FOR FULHAM AS HE WILL SOLIDIFY THE MID AREA AND HE IS GOOD PASSER.GOOD SIGNING AND HE CAME FREE.

BOATENG,AMORIETA AND BABEL MAY COME THIS SUMMER ON A FREE AND ITS SEEM VERY LIKELY WE ARE NOT GOING TO SPEND ANY MONEY AGAIN,IT IS ALARMING AND SOMETHING MUST BE GOING ON BEHIND DOORS.
Replies
No argument but these names are good players. So what if they come for free (not sure Ambro will). Leaves a bit more for 2 or 3 others we need.

Congratulations to Gary Johnson a Fulham boy from Wandsworth Bridge Road on promotion with Yeovil Town.

I thought Dan Brown had a good game as well.
Be interesting to see if Jol brings him home in August. Either way, a season in the Championship would be good for Dan.

If we have a budget over 15million id be very surprised.

Most businesses have budgets. They amount will be distributed under several heads. Players in and salaries will be just one budget. I'll be surprised if FFC spend more than 20 million before September. If I was MAF I'd be keeping a bit back - contingency for January which, hopefully, will not be needed.

reading quotes some managers make I wonder just how good a coach they are, benitez said I would like to stay in prem but there are no big clubs available, really;;;; why big club ? all it says is I cant do much with out loads of money, so all top managers and coaches look for big rich clubs to make the job easy just what would jose do at villa or ffc of west ham, or Norwich, only cloughie showed how you can go to a average club and turn them into world beaters with very little money so does that make cloughie the great one and not jose? or any other feted manager? harry nearly did it at spurs into fourth but even so levy did spend more than most although spurs don't spend to much in comparsion to big 4.
Replies
Cloughie was the best but he stayed at Forrest cos he hadnt burnt too many bridges and big clubs didnt want him.

Fergusson at Aberdeen - Cup Winners Cup Champions and won Scottsh league breaking the old firm monopoly.

Mourinho at Porto.

You beat me to it Phil. If you look back most of the "great" Managers have done their apprenticeships at smaller clubs and have earned the right to look for so called "big clubs". There aren't many big clubs (Chelsea apart with Vialli, Zola, Di Matteo) that take on rookies - they all want time served, experienced guys who have been there and done it so I knd of see Bernitez's point. I am a large comany director who worked his way up through a series of smaller companies - why would I now want to drive a van for a living?
posted by MST (Guest) - Tuesday 21st May 2013, 3:31 PM

but did not most of these win at small clubs once only? there are lots of clubs and managers who won top honour ,but only the once ,when that was done suddenly they were gods and every top club wanted there services, but in my dreams I wonder what would have happened if jose or a.n had come from porto into say villa ,a big club even though in slumberland ,or Newcastle, sunderland , big gates big support,or yes even us, would he have achieved as much ?.

Rumour is that he is on his way out of Spurs. Not that I think it's likely but anyone like him back?
Replies
Would love him back - if we didn't have to pay (much) more than we sold him for. Whether he would come back to us (or is indeed actually up for sale) is more the question...

...he'll probably do the same as everyone else who leaves us, end up at Sunderland or someone equivalent - trading a great career at a (smaller) club that loves them, for one or two seasons at a top 5 club (no Champions' League) and then to a smaller club, miles from anywhere you'd want to live...#justsaying

I doubt if Levy asking price will be less than £10m, which would rule us out anyway. Would I have him back? probably not, after all he wants Champions League football!!!!
posted by martinwatson (Guest) - Tuesday 21st May 2013, 12:27 PM

Pointless question really. Jol (nor MAF) would have him back because he refused to play and Dempsey wouldn't want to come back. I don't believe he is out of Spurs in any case - especially if they get an offer around £60m for Bale from Real after Ronaldo signs for Chels!!

A lot of Spurs fans have not been happy with his displays on the pitch this season. He's not so much of a star now that he has better players around him. Would I take him back.....footballing wise probably yes...for the way he wanted to leave us,no.Probably get the move he wanted to the Scousers.
