So another !star has binned us! a I keep saying ,why are pub players backing out of any deals at Fulham , and before MST starts another greek tragedy about how we kept sess and cairney , we appear to have 2 keepers our manager don't know who to play , both are league 1 keepers, every soddin name that is spoken about us and players ends the same no thanks!. So whats the problem 3weeks till k/o, 5 till window shuts, and no one seems to want to come here ,one of best grounds, In best part of London, so come all you don't worry brigade ,explain whats the problem??? we have dumped Malone now aluka on way out,my money is on S/J walking unless some one arrives soon, the black clouds are rumbling over sw6.Teams are building even if small, you need squad players to call on we cant find those , just what is khan paying these guys.?
Replies
Am worried! Very worried! Extremely worried! But who do you blame? Yes, the club to an extend but the market is crazy and difficult (as I explained a couple of days ago)l! Name a club in the championship without the same problem?? Name a club without this problem! But ultimately Khan and co are judged by the results - so far, at best a b minus! Not good enough for a promotion! Solution is to close the transfer window end of July to stop this stupid poker game with transfers.

My biggest concern is the loss of our best 2 back 4 players (Malone & Kalas ). Hopefully The club will sign Kalas before the window shuts. Most supporters mistrust Khan's motives & methods ( although he has a large dedicated bunch of fans especially on this forum ) & this is the reason for all our anxieties.

MAF was into the club, heart and soul. Shahid Khan however sees it as nothing more than a business project. Like his failing Jacksonville Jaguars, The Whites will end up in the same gutter. American owners, all they do is turn football clubs to sh*to, there's a lot of "previous" to be fair. Their hearts are never really "in it", just a business venture really, and one that has a history of failing. When you also own an NFL or Baseball outfit, we know who's gonna be second preference! Sell up mate, and take that prick Kline with ya.

MAF is history, no point hankering after those old times. It's difficult to recall any club whose chairman is appreciated by fans (apart from Steve Gibson at Boro possibly, and the guy who owns Forest Green Rovers). The Jack Walker style of chairman is long gone, RIP. So perhaps we're in danger of looking for a problem where there isn't one. Of course things aren't perfect, we'd all like to see more money being spent on players, but like it or not, FFC is a business. And after the sucesses of last season my glass is looking half full, as opposed to Ozzymark's half-empty.

Moreline, as much as I love you, I cannot agree with you. Khan only really took the reigns on transfers last season and the players he brought in (with perhaps the odd exception) were outstanding for us.

I also remember Jokanovic banging on about midfield players in the January window when the club had a plethora and us fans wanted a CF. As it happens Jokanovic's style of play (we found out) lends itself more to several attacking options all interchanging and confusing the opposition rather than one central focus and it worked really well when it finally clicked. So we all got that wrong didn't we?

I still say keep calm, stay patient and see what Santa brings us because neither Khan nor Jokanovic have let us down yet and I'm sure they know what we need and have a plan to get it.

Keep the faith - COYW!

The first time I went to The Cottage was in 1956. I now live in Spain and have done so for the last 10 years. My highlight as a Fulham supporter was seeing The Maestro at his very best. The current team play football of which I approve. I was not too disappointed we did not gain promotion to The Premier league last season. It was patently obvious we were not ready. We have played 2 P/l teams in friendliest and lost them both. I fundamentally disagree with the play off system and passionately believe The Manager should buy and sell players.

MST I like the way you always look on the positive side of Fulham. But I don't like the way nothing seems to be going on! We don't know jack Sh1t about what's going on in our club. I would have thought/hoped we would've had a CF and a CH in place by now. So the club could be jelling ready for the start of the season. But what would I know?… I'm always reading the comments, but don't always post as most of you cover my feelings. And I don't see a point in repeating the same thing over and over again. We need another keeper and I'm still not happy with our defence. Time is running out… don't just bring in the dross that no one wants… I'm still praying that we hit the ground running. But not sure with the way we are look at the moment, that is possible… looking forward to be proven wrong! Onwards and Upwards . We live to Dream… COYW

I know what I am about to write is against the grain of the majority on this board and I expect to be lambasted but here goes in any case:

I can't believe how many people are calling out our club for the lack of decent signings when we are still only three weeks into a nine week transfer window. So far we have signed one player who looks to be half decent, another who looks unfit but time will tell if he is good enough, secured the medium term future of Ryan Sessignon and Tom Cairney and brought Lucas Piazon back on loan. We have let one (half decent) player go in Malone and still have cover for him through Sess and Odoi. All the other players who have left got nowhere near the first team.

In reality, much more than the nucleus of the squad that we raved about and made the play-offs last season is still there and we have strengthened in terms of players and contracts.

Kalas was beyond our reach until he signed a contract with Chelsea and I don't see him training with Hull so that chapter is not closed yet. Everything in the press about Rolan is pure speculation and there are no quotes whatsoever from Fulham, the player or his agent so none of us knows what is going on there (good or bad). Betts has agreed to sign a new contract and that maybe to increase his value for sale - who knows.

Long and short, NOBODY on this board knows jack about what Fulham are doing in the transfer market and we have a long history of not doing business in public. So why not get behind the team and the club and act like supporters instead of spoilt kids who didn't get what they wanted for Christmas when it's still only Easter!

Well, Rolan does not want to join (Bordeaux are not letting him train with the team at this moment https://m.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Bordeaux-diego-rolan-ecarte-apres-avoir-refuse-fulham/819659) and we have a 17-year old kid and a second choice right-back to replace our goal-scoring full-back from last season, who happened to fit Jokanovic's style perfectly. I think it's fair to say that we need a left-back, a 9 (preferrably not Rolan), Kalas / quality starting centre-back, another centre-half depending on Sigurdsson's future and a keeper (Button cost us too many points last year). Also, Cairney was healthy the whome tine last season. Who plays in his role if he's out? So, yeah, I can understand the frustrations to an extent but I am still OK with our business so far, as long as we get a decent 9 and a centre back inthe next week.

Well said MST disappointed to see Malone leave but on the whole things are shaping up nicely Roland is not the only centre forward in the world and I am sure if the deal breaks down we will have various options Hopefully Kalas will be re-joining but failing that I am sure the club have a back up plan I totally agree with the don't panic policy and look forward to a decent season ahead

It's all right to be concerned most fans from most clubs are but it does go over top when windows not closed and agents make deals so hard and none of us really know wants going on

Marco, I don't give two hoots about Rolan and your link is still only press conjecture with no quotes of substance. So if he doesn't come then so what? As someone else put it, he is hardly prolific and there are plenty of other CFs to go after.

If you knew Odoi well enough you'd know that his preferred position is actually left back (even though he is right footed) and he is only second choice right back because he is behind an outstanding young player in Ryan Fredericks - not because he is no good.

Nobody is arguing about what we all think we need and don't need to compliment and strengthen the current squad; my post was about the people who continually complain and slag the club off because we haven't completed our transfer business three weeks into the transfer window opening and I stand by that.

Mst I enjoy your sensible considered posts but we need a good start to the new season otherwise we will be playing catch up like last season we should be nearing a completed squad so they can train ,play together and get used to each other also I don't go along with Odoi as a left back we need left footers in that position Ream and Malone natural left footers gave us a good balance down the left both defensively and offensively. Fingers crossed our excellent manager will have the players we wants sooner rather than later . Coyw's

Think your assessment is fair and sensible MST. I'm pretty certain that JS tried to talk Malone into staying and you can'tblame the player for wanting to play at a higher level and God forbid getting paid more for the privilege. Mind I'm still really disappointed we lost him, that's just how it is. I think Kalas is a big wish for most on here and were he to sign on the dotted, a lot of the moaning and carping would subside. I know I'd feel a lot more comfortable. Would be even better than hearing that Buffoon had hung up his gloves.

I saw it that Buffoon kicked the back of the West Ham players left foot as he got between him and the ball, causing him to trip himself up. Net effect still the same, he gave a goal away, nobody can understand why he was playing and we're all now praying we don't see him on the pitch again:)) By the way, I would agree Stockdale, whilst not top notch, is light years ahead of Buffoon.

8-2 Chelsea 2-0 down at half time Hammers and I,m just reading about who is leaving, who could leave and who thinks about why they should come here ie Rolan? The latest gossip, Aluko to Reading. I cannot agree more with regard to the Button, Bettinelli situation. Look at our run in and, who was in goal? It appears to be going belly up. It is only a matter of time before Cairney and Sessignon go for, if there is no real ambition? Where does SJ fit in with this apparent like of ambition? Surely, he needs the new talent now, so as to work with and give us a chance for a good start to the season? Not good!!

I share your sentiment but You don't know if the story is true or not. Even if it is, we sometimes have to swallow our pride if it means we get a class player. Remember only 12 months ago, he was a £12m and rising player. Whatever happened and with his contract running out, we have an opportunity to get him for £5m. If it means a little patience for him to accept he has step down, it's not such a bad thing. Martin was a completely different situation. He's comparing us to another championship team and went on strike - unforgivable! So let's give Rolan a chance before we throw our toys out the pram!! If he decides to come he's not going to come here just for the money - he'd want to impress!

Here we go again Bishop with your continual moaning and criticism of Fulham.

Some people just like to watch their team play regardless mate. It's called supporting Fulham!! I don't care how many subs there are, I miss football and I miss Fulham and this is an opportunity to re-bond with both. I'm not looking to learn anything. Blimey!!

I think for the first time ever I agree with Bishop!

This is a training game nothing more nothing less, most of the players will get a run out in the match and as they have been training hard for the last few days in Austria the game will not reflect on how we play when it comes to the start of the season.

So MST enjoy watching a training session but like Bishop I have better things to do.

Also take the result with a pinch of salt.

With the lucrative Tv money or the potential money on offer for promotion, it doesn't appear there are any selling clubs left! When a club wants to release a player, the competition is ridculous, and even if you strike a deal, it is likely to get gaazumpped with the herd mentality that clubs seem to have now. 3 weeks to the start of season and we are still way short and haven't solved the two problems we have, a solid defender and a good striker. I don't know to blame the club or the market! Probably the market! everything feels like a housing market bubble of the nineties and also again around 2010!!! But unlike the housing market, I really hope this bubble will burst soon!

We've been saying that for years and it doesn't look to be happening any time soon. In fact it is going the other way as are wages.

Personally I find it obscene that someone can earn £250,000 per week for playing football when there are people living on the street and working class families having to use food banks. Perhaps football needs it's own tax system for clubs, agents and players because a cap would be illegal and even if it wasn't clubs would get around it.

On a separate but related note, apart from clubs in Europe, I don't believe that Premier League clubs fall under the same regime of Financial Fair Play as Football League clubs (but I might be wrong).

thats the market ! its not really the BBC's fault - these megawages came in through the commercial door, itv, sky, they are the ones who have the real money due to commercials et etc etc - the beeb has to pay top wack to keep their "prized posessions" otherwise they'll be off aswell... Whether you like it or not - thats todays rate. I don't agree with it either but thats the way it is.
posted by FFCinB (Guest) - Thursday 20th July 2017, 9:07 AM

Maybe we should think about the Beeb being a Public Service Provider and not trying to compete for audience share. The licence fee would be about 10% of present sum and they'd stop wasting our hard earned money on these " people".

It won't happen Bish. It's called supply and demand and the world demands top flight football and footballers so all the time demand is there it will be "name your price".

The only way around it in my (not so humble) opinion is to heavily tax the clubs, agents and players but that will never happen either.

Eventually, every decent player will want to come to England to play and there will be only mickey mouse leagues in Europe left. Football will become like American football, basket ball, baseball, ice hockey, etc. and only played seriously in one country but that's decades away.

Until then......

Bish - the top clubs CAN HAVE 50 players in their squads - look at the top 4 in england !! they buy, buy, buy only to loan them out... I'm positive that they buy certain players, not to strengthen their own squads but actually just to make the other clubs weaker !!! Look at CFC....Lukaku, De Bruyne to name but two - didn't even start matches and yet went on to blossom at lesser clubs - only to be brought back for megamoney....its ridiculous !!!

What is grossly unfair is that the current system penalises 'poorer' clubs and maintains the scenario that only the top six EPL clubs can continue to prosper - although with ownership of lesser clubs by very rich magnates e.g. Leicester, can also compete for world-class players if their club is successful. In my opinion, the authorities should put a transfer cap on the richer clubs as nowadays it's becoming ridiculous especially when seat prices keep increasing.

Talking about names, when I listen to Talksport, or watch the transfer channel on Sky, I am completely bamboozled by the names that they keep rattling off, that are going to this club, and that club in the Premier League, as they are talking about players that names that I have never ever heard of, and everyone seems to be thinking that they are the best things since sliced bread. It's Premier League, this and Premier League that, and the Championship never seems to get a mention. Do others on this site know the names of these foreign players that are being banded about, or am losing touch with the wonderful world of the Premier League ? I am beginning to think that the Championship is a much better league to be playing in, with are more even playing field, and at the moment I am so pleased that we didn't get promoted last season, as we, like Brighton and Huddersfield, would be heading straight back again to where we are now, and it would have been a wasted season.
posted by Brian Jarvis (Guest) - Tuesday 18th July 2017, 11:17 PM

With our tight fisted owner none of these so called foreign names would have been coming to Craven Cottage, and we would be an even more unhappy bunch, with one loss after another, at the top table. This season in the Championship will be a much happier place, with hopefully more wins than losses. It's all about money now, and until we have an owner that will be prepared to spend, then we would have absolutely no chance of survival, so we might as well stay where we are for now.

If Hart signs for West Ham, I wonder if Darren Randolph might be tempted to move to another London club where he would be guaranteed first team football and with a reasonable shot at a return to the premiership next season?

Talk is he is going to Newcastle as soon as the Hart deal goes through. I see where your coming from tho. Would be a top keeper in the championship.

It seems that the courting of Diego Rolan is being extended while we wait for him to see if a Premier League club is interested in procuring his services. In the meantime maybe we should start looking elsewhere to speed up his decision-making process. A few possibilities in this article with four possibilities under 28, but maybe the article lacks research as they've also identified Jerome who, at 30, is way to old for our team! http://www.90min.com/posts/5277827-5-alternative-attacking-targets-if-fulham-fail-to-sign-bordeaux-s-diego-rolan

If we sign him wait for the dream come true press release, then at Xmas it will be the endless speculation that he is either unhappy or too good and should be in Prem lge....

He does look like the sort of striker we need and I don't just mean one that can score goals! He seems to have scored from a variety of ranges, but his movement in the area and ability to get behind defenders would make him really suitable for our style of play- we've lacked a decent six-yard tap-in merchant since we've been in the Championship and if he signs, he'll fulfil the criteria.

Fulham FC must stop being a selling club if it wants to achieve a return to the Premiership. Surely Ryan Fredericks is under contract, so why all this talk of him going to Watford? Ditto Mr Alko, why are Reading even sniffing about ? If we sell those two our Promotion chasing side has almost been torn apart. Also did Fulham FC have a sell-on clause when Celtic FC bought Moussa Dembelle for a song? Because it seeems likely that Arsenal are going to break the bank to sign him if Sanchez goes. We really must look after and stop losing the players we have to achieve anything, I know players sign contracts - they must be held to them and not fly the nest as soon as they think they can.
Replies
I don't know how many times it has to be pointed out that Dembele was out of contract and under the rules we were entitled to nominal compensation i.e. 500,000 as he went outside the English league - that is the legality of the situation for a player of his age. Secondly, as has been pointed out ad nausea on this site this is the silly season when the press trawl around and either exaggerate the truth or clutch at straws. The real fun will be at the end of next month - be patient

It makes me wonder if KEETCH54 you are really a supporter or working for Mr Kahn and Mr Cline, because like all supporters I want the club to hold on to our best players and not keep selling them. A settled team and a happy manager get it? I know all about paper talk but that did not stop Lasse Christensen going back to Denmark did it. Another player departing from an already depleted squad just take a look at your own first team on the office club site there can be only 16 or 18 first team players listed. It's a disgrace for a club of our standing!

ROC - the comment was about Dembele and no selling on clause applied as out of contract ( once and for all ) Players these days hold all the aces and those who are in the last year or so of their contracts have enormous bargaining power as failure to secure their services going into the last knockings can be extremely costly as we know. Your annoyance about LVC is presumably because he has not fired up the enthusiadm of the last few managers or led to a bid from Nigel Clough. As you advised you are Scandinavian, you are best qualified to judge that he will be a hit in His back yard as having spent the best part of 30 years working for a Danish company and attending many games there, I think we would both agree the standard is basic at best. And on the subject of loyalty , have attended week in and out since my first home game in 1961 when we lost 3-2 at home to Everton. Do tou actually attend games? If you did it might open tour eyes a little

Rolan agrees £5m deal according to sky sports! Pretty good deal I think if he finally signs! Bad news, maybe losing Frederick to Watford. Personally, not sure he's good enough (pace alone isn't sufficient) for the premier league but at the championship level, he's a great asset for us. So hopefully, he stays.

Was Djalo that slow fat unit lumbering around at the back? Seemed to be slow, unfit and lacked positional awareness. The rest weren't setting the world on fire either. I don't buy the "meaningless game" argument either. They were so easily taken apart, which is somewhat worrying.
posted by The Arizonan - Sunday 16th July 2017, 5:25 PM

Arizonan to be fair none of them are at the peak of physical fitness and they have been playing games every other day. Even Piazon who came on at 60 minutes said his legs went. You can read nothing into the game at all and we didn't become a bad team in a few weeks. Give them time to get fit before we start worrying about how weak we are in which position.

So how come Chelsea were fit and our lot not?
posted by nosferatu (Guest) - Sunday 16th July 2017, 6:05 PM

Well, I read into the game that they were taken apart and let eight goals in. I assume Chelsea also have had a busy summer but they didn't look jaded and disinterested. Four minutes video can't showcase the entire game and I accept that, but Djalo (if indeed that's who it was) looked very slow and cumbersome, and that's putting it politely. I don't suppose anyone had the team sheet for the game?
posted by The Arizonan - Sunday 16th July 2017, 6:12 PM

Chelsea has nothing to do with my argument. My argument is that our lads were definitely jaded, the game was a kick about in the park, meant less than zero and in no way represents the Fulham that any if us watched last season or will watch this season. The team sheets are on the official website.
posted by MST (Moderator) - Sunday 16th July 2017, 7:35 PM

Jaded maybe but what sort of an excuse is that? Chelsea weren't jaded, or so it seems, and the goal tally tends to prove that. Maybe we were brilliant for the 85 minutes not filmed but I suspect not. All games mean something, even "pointless" games such as this. If it's "pointless" and everyone is terminally jaded why schedule the game in the first place. What was the intention behind the game? Surely not just to give Chelsea shooting practice? Whatever the reason for the game the objective, whatever it was, was not fulfilled on the evidence of this video and I find that worrying.

Thanks for the link to the lineups and match report. Chelsea substituted ten players at half time and still managed to put another three in the back of the Fulham net. Fulham don't have ten subs period. No wonder they're jaded. Still, it will hopefully have buggered up Kline's stats and that is, undoubtedly in my book, A Good Thing.
posted by The Arizonan - Sunday 16th July 2017, 8:38 PM

How can they be "jaded" when the season has not even started yet. No logic in that comment at all
posted by Dave g (Guest) - Monday 17th July 2017, 12:05 AM

The last season never really ended. The second Reading game was two months ago and they're already long back in training. I think this is MST's point with regard to performance and fitness; the team has not had sufficient time to kick back and recover from a hectic two-games-a-week schedule with a very small squad. He probably has a point but given the season is almost upon us I don't see how things will magically improve if his reasoning is correct. Bottom line? We don't have any depth in the squad, either in terms of skills or numbers. Chelsea fielded ten subs at half time. We don't have that luxury. Some would argue it's not a luxury, it's an absolute necessity. Here's a little test. Name the probable starting eleven and then name the cover for each position. A bit threadbare don't you think?
posted by The Arizonan - Monday 17th July 2017, 12:22 AM

If you read Piazon's article he mentions that FFC have been through a tough training week and looked leggy due to this.

If you read too much into behind closed doors matches v a very strong Chelsea 11 then you need to get out more!
posted by JBH (Guest) - Monday 17th July 2017, 7:54 AM

Well, right now I need to get in more as we're in monsoon season. Fulham fielded a strong team, one that aspires to a place in the Premier League. In that regard a friendly against the champions gave the team an opportunity to show their mettle, but this didn't happen. Chelsea were five nil up by the half time whistle, so I don't buy into the "leggy" idea. For me the highlights shown were reminiscent of the Spurs cup game last season where nerves came to the fore and players went into hiding. This game's over and we move on but the lack of depth in the squad remains an issue, legs or no legs.

Fulham were too bad to be true wants again playing prem opposition! I still think that spurs game from last season in the cup,we looked very poor, way too poor to be serious. The Chelsea manager was at that game, and i know this sounds a bit mad? I think Slavisa didn't want us looking good in that cup game. I really thought at the time that it might have been because we had Kalas and Piazon on loan??? Yet again prem opposition, and it's Chelsea? Our prep season tour was okay against some polish opposition, if we are so poor this season? all our buys are poor footballers, and we have played weak opposition.Djalo' is one from Klines stats system,so let us see how that one pans out!!!

It was a nonsense game in my opinion; Fulham players didn't look to be trying at all. Every CFC goal came from a Fulham mistake with lazy balls and no chasing back. This is not real life....

So hopefully the sending off in such a big match will help him mature quickly. Sess hardly got the ball the whole game (seems like he was being man-marked or like he does sometimes, no where to be found on the field) but when he did and especially around the box, he did ok and looked dangerous! Congratulations to both!

Terry you are so right !!! We need 2 centre backs been obvious for a long time now . Before we sign any more midfielders or strikers

Mst unfortunately we haven't signed the players in postions needed most in fact we are now short having let Malone go Sess might be good going forward etc but Malone gave us a strong presence at the back . But as you say the window is not long open and being beaten badly might put more urgency into our transfer targets

The moaners keep on. Odoi is too good to sit on the bench, and is a proven left as well as right back. So please dont keep harping on about Malone.

Odoi is not a left back maybe alternative central defender but a bit small ffc still trying to sell him to a team in Belgium

Odoi has played left back for much of his career actually - do your research.

Odoi quote 'is a right footed full back' he has been out of position at left back a bit like Richards and Baird when they were forced to play left back

A slight change of topics! I know most of us resent the unjustified high salaries that all footballers seem to get now. But apart from a few they are paying their share of tax (probably because they don't have any means of avoiding it). What is annoying is guys like Lewis Hamilton who is British, with a salary as high as Ronaldo, but doesn't pay a penny of uk tax and can't even be bother to turn up last week to promote London when we had drivers from Germany, South America and Australia here to promote F1. With the terrorist attacks and the horrible fire, London could do with all the help to show it's still a great city. Sorry for the rant!

I must admit I find Grand Prix boring as well but I don't think it's fair to pick on Lewis when all formula 1 drivers live in Monaco. Hamilton was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth like most drivers but came from humble beginnings to work his way to the top and he has won three world championships for his country. Yes he is arrogant and yes he could be more respectful to others some times but I lose half my income and more to tax and if we had a choice most of us would choose to live in the sun tax free...wouldn't we?? I know I would....

A few months ago in Montenegro, a local taxi driver told me he'd been hired a few weeks prior to take Hamilton to some event in his country. When he asked Hamilton for a selfie, our glorious F1 champion would only agree if he got a free ride in return. Such a lovely guy, eh?

....I seem to remember a story whereby Hamilton when he was a nipper was refused an autograph by Schumacher and vowed he would never become that person. Seems his memory is shorter than his bank balance ;-).

MST the fact Hamilton came from a relatively normal and even a working class background is even less of an excuse for him to think he's the god because he's good and has money. I would also disagree with you that while I like you (and probably everyone else) believe I am paying far far too much tax, I'd be very very uncomfortable if I didn't have to pay any at all, especially when the country is in desperate need of income!! Someone earning 50m a year maybe contributing less to the country than maybe someone on 50k a year is frankly disgusting! BTW as far as I know, he's only paying inland revenue for this week's work!

If I was earning that kind of money I would be happy to pay as much tax as you like as long as I had enough to live on. It's what life is about the more you earn the more tax you pay

I count myself as a reasonably modern man, but I despair at the cringing political correctness of the BBC that seems determined to elevate women's football, cricket and rugby to the same status as the men's game. I have yet to see a women's football match where the quality exceeds anything on show at Hackney Marshes on a Sunday morning.

Seriously, you guys are beyond parody... If you are not interested in women's football, don't watch it. simple. It's because if the attitude of idiots like you that many women and girls at grass roots level don't consider football and sport in general an option and miss out on benefits of excercise and being part of a team. If the BBC publicise it, it's fair counterweight to prehistoric attitudes like yours and in keeping with what public service broadcasting is meant to be. Many people have women and girls in their lives for which football is a positive influence and it doesn't grow without publicity. If you don't like it, don't watch. Those of us who are bored by F1, dont constantly complain it's on TV, we just get on with things we like. You could try that.

Fingers and toes crossed. £8.5m would be a real statement of intent and with the exception of European competitions, Bordeaux are playing in an inferior league to the English Championship with far smaller crowds so it would be a step up for the lad in my opinion.

I hope that our club recognise that after September, 2019 when this country leaves the EU there may well be changes that will affect all football league clubs and quotas of foreign players our clubs are allowed to sign. These should rightly be a certain number of the whole sqad and a certain number who turn out to play each week. This will allow many of the excellent young players more chance to develop into world class players the likes of Bobby Moore, Johnny Haynes, Alan Clarke and the others who have graced the turf at Craven Cottage over the years. Those who want off to the African Nation Cups every other year should be discounted because it disrupts any Managers plans for a season. We need more Ryan Seesgon's or he will not stay and they are to be found up and down this country. Bobby Robson was signed from a club in Tyneside wasn't he as a junior?

I have had said many times on here that the only way to build a club like ours is from the bottom up and develop our own players. So I totally agree, Would love to see George Williams get back to his best and come through. People forget he played upfront for Wales with Gareth Bale as a full international before his injury. Looking for big things from Lasse too. Good luck to Edun and Ryan tonight the Euro final. . Ryan going for Golden Boot! Today on EuroSport. This is fantastic for developing a winning mentality which we will benefit from. Fo me it is all very exciting. Everton and Spurs do this which is why they are up there with he biggest now. 5 first team Everton players in our under 21 team. Deli all and Kane for Spurs plus others. Monaco and Dortmund are the prime european examples and its a shame they are selling everyone. Think what Southampton could have become if they were not a selling club, We will never have the money coming in from attendances and commercial activity. The 2014 FA youth final team changed everything for us and will be seen as another turning point for our beloved club and have total faith in Slavisa making them all better players just like Pochetino and Foeman do at their clubs,

Geezer, we played the kids when we first dropped out of the Prem and look what happened. Sess is one thing but bringing a shed load of kids into the squad will get us relegated. A club like Fulham has to temper ambition with income and quite rightly supplement the meagre amount we receive from gate receipts and TV money with the sale of the odd prodigy now and again and yes, that could mean Sess and Edun playing for another club at some point in the future. Harsh but true I'm afraid.....

MST it wernt only the kids. Its was a concoction of many things. Over age players. players coming to us for their last pay packet. Why was WOY not given the wedge to carry on. Mcgrath ? had the right idea but went about it the wrong way??. Now JAKO is doing it getting rid of some players. I think may be it wont be our season to go up. There is still things to get right yet. And a lot of people on here think is going to be a walk in the park for us. And will moan if it dont go right.
