If you don’t have time to watch fulham, you can tell the results from the traffic volumn on his forum! Unfortunately the busier it gets it means the less points we have on the board. And the inverse is true. What does that say about the fans in this forum? We don’t celebrate. We are just a bunch of moaners waiting to pounce!??

I am guilty of it, and i am ashamed for doing it, and MST is right, Fulham cannot win every game, IMPOSSIBLE!!! Our injury situation doesn't help, and i am afraid it is getting worse! Does anybody know anything about Johansen's injury? He went down really bad holding his groin. I watched the game on Fulham TV, and in the 2nd half we do create chances and enough chances to get back and even win the game. Steve Bruce looked well relieved after winning, and you could tell so. Villa don't look better than us, and it would have been a different story if Kamara and Aite converted their chances, but it wasn't to be. Tom Cairney wasn't up to speed because he needs more time coming back from injury. Slavisa tried to nurse him back because of pressure to win and he is our talisman, and maybe we are expecting too much. It is one of those seasons that we don't see very often, and there are niggly injuries to others in our squad. MST is right, it is only 1 game loss,2, and we can't win em all. Okay' we get caught out flat footed a little bit when teams close us down early. We have to expect that, other teams know we are a good passing side. Why would we want to change it? We wouldn't be Fulham if we did. I would rather be in Joka's position than Komans at Everton or Clopp at Liverpool. Have you seen the amount of money those guys have spent? Our chairman is maybe a bit tight with his cash, but maybe he is right to not spend big at this moment in time. Aston Villa have splash the cash and Terry is on big money to get them out of the division, will they do it? Villa are not better than Fulham. Fulham just need to be more street wise, and we have an injury crisis at SW6. Our players are not the sharpest at the moment, and we are still gelling. Saying that, it would be nice to see some shots going in past the keeper, we are talking fractions/margins! I don't want to carry on slating our players because even though we haven't spent big, we are no back numbers in this division. We will get it right, and we need to be patience and let nature take it's coarse and clear these injuries up... I am looking forward to the Bolton game sat, i love my team FULHAM!!!!!!!!!

Think its the ideal moment to give Soares his debut at left back on saturday. Sess up to midfield and why not Betts back in goal.

After watching the two Premier League games on Sky today, I am beginning to wonder, why we are so keen to return to the top Division. Both Everton and Liverpool are pretty decent sides, but they were walloped by both Arsenal and Spurs, and we are not in either of the losers class. In the Championship, although we may not be in the top six, at least we can hold our own, in a Division of our own level. We can turn up to matches knowing that we have an even chance of winning, whereas in the Premier League, we would be expected to lose over 75% of the matches played. It's far more enjoyable in this Division, as we will see another 6 new teams every season, and then face a new challenge. I will be happy to stay here as long as you like.

Just read a few comments below, namely Ken, some obviously don't understand how a football club works...it is complicated regarding the contractual issues but put plainly Joka has signed up as our Head Coach, player recruitment is not his role. The Head Coach signs up to the fact that he is given players and must coach them to improve them. He is in charge of tactical play and must have tactics to suit opposition and the players he is given. If he does not like that he can resign or better still should not have signed in the first place. He is failing his role at the moment because the team is not improving under his tenure this season, that is why I question his work. I question what I have watched this season regarding team play and in game management. I understand we need recruitment in certain areas but Joka must work tactics to suit the players he has and not the other way around. The structure at the club is a different debate entirely. Notwithstanding, we have recruited some decent players and although our squad is thin in some areas it is not too bad and good enough to compete for a top 6 in this league. Currently we look mid table at best. I note that some (only some) on this forum like to moan about the moaners without putting forward anything constructive and quite frankly offer nothing to the debate. I have asked Ken to please tell us all on the forum how Joka's tactical play set out to combat and beat Aston Villa on Saturday, be great to hear his (and likeminded individuals) constructive and knowledgeable viewpoint? I doubt if he will respond with that info?
Replies
You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear ...the players the manager has been given aren’t good enough and as Graeme Souness said on the panel this afternoon that’s the bottom line no matter what tactics you come up with ! Jokanovic needs to be at a bigger club he’s wasted at FFC

Wow what a load of rubbish...have you never heard of coaching. I read with great interest the Souness comments in the newspaper this weekend and they are archaic and out of touch, albeit he was a fine player. In Souness' era Clough (and his backroom team) coached a team of also rans into being European champions, he improved them as a team and as individual players. Coaching is fundamentally important. Joka is proving to be a poor coach.

You may get your wish to see SJ gone Riverside. West ham may well come for him in January ( if not before ). When we are in league 1 & Khan's disappeared after selling the clubs assets, I guess you will understand what the problem was after all.

Marbs you are another who has missed the point....Khan's ownership is not the debate, I agree with you on that point. The discussion is Joka's coaching ability for a football club in the Championship based on the contract he has signed as a Head Coach. Don't confuse a different issue with the one that has been presented.

Norwich have jumped into the top six, so what. It is in May 2018, when you need to be up there, not in October. We should be up there eventually, but my main worry is that if Jokanovic reads the comments on this site, plus no help from the owners and board, he will decide to walk away, as per Mark Hughes, and we will never be involved in a promotion fight. If I was the manager/coach here at the moment, I would stick two fingers up to the Kahan's and find another club, that let me be involved in the transfer side. At Fulham, with this lot in charge, it will never happen, and until we get relegated, we will be a Championship club for years.

We can hardly blame the Manager, when he submitted a list of the players he want brought in but Managemtent binned his suggestions for their computer anaylsis and a couple of new faces completely unheard of players with absolutely no previous. I said it would be a difficult game at Villa and so it was. We have not replaced Malone or resolved the CB position so with a ropey defence what do you expect? Do not shoot the messenger / Manager he tried his best for us fans. Look to the Board and Management of our club....they really have let us down when FFC should have been trying to better last year's efforts for promotion.

Settle down and be calmer in front of goal, and place it. Cisse i don't know what to think? Fonte' you have got to give more!!! I am sorry guy's but if you want contracts in England? Our club reminds me of the 80s sitcom "ever decreasing circles" every week it's" if we can win our next game it could kick start our season"but we don't and now it's if we beat Bolton that might start us on a run. This seasons Championship is the most open its been for years- plenty of half decent sides( of which we are one ) but no outstanding ones. And it's pointless blaming Jok as again and again Mark Hughes comment that "the club has no real ambition" comes back to haunt us' !

How I find it remarkable that Jt scores his first ever goal against us yesterday by just coasting in at the front post not being picked up and scores really without a challenge. I find it staggering with all the talk that comes out of the training ground that we have I quote Worked hard on our defensive issues and it has gone well this week. Failure to defend properly results in losing games as the 2 clowns up front are not going to score us 10/15 goals a season

Sess needs to be dropped to the bench he is a liability as a defender bring him on as a left winger late in the match . I have said this before on this post but only the incompetence of the FFC management would sign an injured player on loan its 13 matches into the season and Soares our replacement for Malone is still out ...what a joke if Khan ran his car parts company the way he runs FFC he would be bankrupt
Replies
That is only part of the problem. It was a shocking transfer window and so much money was wasted on players that simply are not good enough fkr a promotion chasing team. Their stats in the french second division or in the portugese league may look good on paper but if we had them watched a few times by a knowledgeable scout cannot believe they would have been signed. We desperately need a commanding centre half and a proven goal scorer if we are to be in contention for a play off place at the end of the season.

I agree with above. I was going to write about that same topic. We got quantity in players not quality in the transfers Certainly not so worried if West Ham takes SJ as I was before. The thing that points to our lack of ambition in Fulham is 11 players came and we still made +/- 4 million profit and that's all this club thinks about not the pot at the end of the Rainbow. As a Fulham fan we have to be content with being in the Championship until a proper investor buys the Club

We miss Scotty Mac much more than we thought, and the truth is, Young Sess always had that cover down that left side to roam free. Fulham got a lot of goals from that side, and now we are found out a bit because the new guy's have not lived up to expectations! There is still time, and maybe the likes of AK47 will deliver some goals yet? Remember he is coming back from an injury, and Floyde, and Cairney, ect... Fulham maybe are just out of rythum because of niggley injuries and i will once again give them the benefit of the doubt. Ojo gave us another option, but he is injured, and i don't know what to make of Cisse? If these guy's want long contracts in England? THEY NEED TO SHOW UP SOON!!!!! Sess is still learning his trade, he has great potential but that is all. At full back he can be caught out of position too easily. He does need to smarten up. I would like a Malone type player at full back (maybe Soares) and play Sess further forward or go three at the back and let Sess play as wing back his best position at the moment.

Reasonably ok performances from most of the team, apart from Fonte, Kamara & Cisse who were all poor. As SJ said we lack quality. Poor signings & lack of strength in depth, plus no decent main strikers mean we should expect a mid table finish at best. I understand the owner wanting a profitable investment from his purchase, but the idiotic club management from himself, his son & his sons best friend is beyond the pale.
Replies
Yes we’ll said. Those that were happy with our transfer window signings are now wanting the coach out as stop as they can’t admit the boards mistakes. Is there one signing we’ve made that has improved us from last year? No. We have gone backwards. Wolves spent big money but got the right players. Having seen most of the teams in this season only Wolves look decent. The rest have nothing to fear if you’re a decent side. Very competitive division with not much between any sides but with a little bit of class an easy division to get out of. The board with their diabolical signings have sold themselves and us short. Still same old players we’ve been crying out for since last season. A decent number 9 and a centre back. Can’t stand the man and wouldn’t want him back but we miss Chris Martin. Someone that can hold the ball up for others. We’ve signed a lightweight, a useless nutter and a player who thinks he should be in the premiership that dives more then Tom Daley to fill that spot.

I have seen a lot of calls for jokonovics head on this board after todays results, and in some points i agree. Wr hve no plan B and look slow and ponderous without cairney. We have no striker and havent rly progressed under sj, with the best defense being we haveny got worse based on results comparative results to last season either. I wld warn against saking him as i think we need proper investment in january to allow him to kick on, we only really came good post jan last year anyway. If we were to secure players of gayles calibre in january it wld be a different story especially with a fully fit cairney. Wld u prefer david moyes, sam alladyce or any of that lot instead. No!!!

Well the journey and the weather, were far worse than the way we played. Very late back after visiting friends on the way home in Banbury. Reflecting on the match, we were not at our best, but some of our football was still quite delightful, but our cutting edge seems to have disappeared. When I hear that Huddersfield had beaten Manure United, Newcastle had beaten Palace, and last night Brighton had won at West Ham, it really makes me angry. How come that last season we did the double of both Huddersfield and Newcastle, and we were a much better side than Brighton, despite losing to them twice. All of those sides have gone forward, and good luck to them, and we have slid back badly. Could it be that we have found out that Joka is not up to the job after all. It is not desperate times, as we are still only a few points from a play off spot, and we all know that those in that position at the moment, will not end up there, but a real shake up on the field is required for a start, and Betts must be returned to goal, as although Button does make a few good saves, his distribution put us in trouble time after time. Winning our next three games will put the faith back, but anything less than 9 points will be a big worry.

Let's face it, we are now light years away from the likes of Brighton, Newcastle and Huddersfield, and with the Khans running our club, we will never ever be good enough to challenge for a top 6 spot. We have a cheapskate owner, who would buy a selling plate horse, to try to win the Derby. You just need to look at Wolves as a good example. Their owners have invested wisely in decent players by putting their money where their mouths are, and now look firm favourites for promotion. It's no good blaming our coach JS, as he has not been given the tools to work with. We were most bookies favourites for promotion this season, and then we sold two of our best players from last season, and loaned out Woodrow, who is a far better striker than either Kamara or Fonte. Our results show how badly we have declined, with being unable to beat PNE, Boro' Burton, Cardiff and Norwich, whereas other so called top teams are picking up wins against all of them. If we finish in the top 10 with this shower, we will have done well. Promotion, forget it.

There has been some right funny results in the championship this season. If the likes of Cardiff can get beat buy Birmingham? and there has been other funny ones,we can't give up on our team and manager! There is nothing we can do about our group of players we have at our disposal until the January window. Believe me, our boy's won't need telling how bad a performance that was, and i think they will want to put that right starting at home to Bolton this coming saturday. Tom Cairney is still not 100%, and he can't do it on his own. That means the new guys will have to step up, or go back into nothingness! Another big worry for Fulham, is the injury to Johansen, and we seriously need him fit! We are normally a team brimming with confidence and flair, so playing out from the back is not a problem, if we show more self-belief. Let's forget Villa, and take them down back at the Cottage! Bring on Bolton and put right the wrongs...

Problem is our next game is always the game that will turn the season around.... until we concede early or throw away 3 points conceding a late equalizer, or playing poorly and getting soundly beaten, or playing very well and dominating but failing to score or falling to a stupid goal...the ways we conspire to lose points is so varied that you wonder whether that's what we actually train for. You just can't know how we will lose points in any one match. Then once in a while they throw us a bone...a win here and there... Then as we begin daring to dream....a defensive blunder and normal service is resumed.

He says We did not have enough quality and not brave enough playing out from the back .He complains when we start to play a long ball, but cant understand why teams play the long ball against us successfully.Time he was honest with himself. Most of our problems are his fault not the players.
Replies
Agree with you JOXOR; it beggars belief, he doesn't understand why the players are getting nervous playing out from the back, surely he sees the opposition pressing us, surely he understands he needs to train his players to provide three options everytime (otherwise we will get chased down), surely he understands a safe out ball should the pressing become difficult to manage. And, surely he understands it is challenging to play this tactic when the goalkeeper is not comfortable on the ball and invariably does not create options or angles. Seriously, what a dog's breakfast and the blame lies firmly with the Head Coach.

Not being funny but we narrowly lost today. This league is the most unpredictable and best league in the world. Anyone can beat anyone and I expect alot of chopping and changing as the season goes on. Other teams around us will get injuries and lose their best players as we have early this season. We are only 3 points off the playoffs and lost to an improving villa side today who are right up there with us. Moaning about the manager isn't going to help. There is a long way to go and until we get cut adrift from the playoff pack I for one will still believe we will be in the mix come the end of the season.
Replies
I will go along with you TJ' This league will be topsy-turvy for a while before it settles down. I am not giving up on Fulham pulling the season around just yet! My look on it is, the likes of AK47, fONTE, Ect have up to the jan transfer to show up! I don't know what has happened to mollo? but the new guy's need to prove they are better than the likes of Aluko ect. What happened to 'Soares'? this new left back tp replace Scotty? It has been a comedy of errors at Fulham, and personally, i would buy back Scotty, and Aluko.. It is pointless Fulham taking corners at the moment because there is nobody in there to make a difference. We might has well get Cameron Jerome on board for the corners. These new guy's need to step up for sure, i am running out of excuse's defending them!

Tj you were probably one of the supporters wanting Jol to stay on when it was clear he was well past his sell by date and totally out of solutions (even by his own admission, as he stated in an interview a couple of years ago)....Joka is the same, totally clueless in finding solutions, we are going the same way....but I agree that finding an alternative Head Coach might not be easy but that's not my job that's the club's and I don't have any faith they would get that right.

Jokanovic's job is to coach the players he is given, and to make the best of what he is given. Have to admire Warnock getting such a good tune out the players he is given...which are, on paper, far less quality than ours.

Based on what I have witnessed this season and the lack of progress and the complete ignorance in dealing with opposing team’s tactics perhaps Joka should be sacked. He has a decent squad (albeit poor options at centre forward) but has not improved the team, he has had enough time to improve things but appears totally incapable of doing so. Of course, if Joka leaves then who do we get, perhaps that is a bigger question but does not hide the fact that Joka has not improved the team this season. I understand the points earned against last season but we need to look at what we are watching and just to add we will not go on a run like we did last season. Poor season....mid table at best if we stick with Joka.

joka didnt pick the players we got in and he openly said not 2 sell aluko and malone , but blame him anyway , when last season we looked unplayable , cairney problem isnt helping but he would have been sold if fit i reckon ,

Sadly, Joka does appear to flatter to deceive. I genuinely thought we were going places this season, and am left wondering exactly what has gone wrong. Yes, we’ve had injuries, but we don’t seem to have recovered from our woeful preseason preparations, which must be the responsibility of the Head Coach. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what comes next, but it’s looking increasingly like the future won’t feature Joka

I agree JOXOR everyone can see it except our Head Coach. Even the pundits and reporters are beginning to see that we are just a one trick pony; Gentleman Jim says at the end we might need another option....hang on this should have been planned before the season started....no, it should have been in place at the end of last season, we might not have lost to Reading!! Joka has had plenty of time, quite frankly I find him infuriating.

Here we go again the same people with no common sense saying sack the manager, has he not made it clear enough for you he does not select the players that are bought. I suspect that you moaners would like a merry go round manager i.e one that keeps getting sacked for not getting results, our manager got Watford where they now are. Enough said.

Ken...you obviously don't understand how a football club works...it is complicated regarding the contractual issues but put plainly for you...Joka has signed up as our Head Coach, player recruitment is not his role. The Head Coach signs up to the fact that he is given players and must coach them to improve them. He is in charge of tactical play and must have tactics to suit opposition and the players he is given. If he does not like that he can resign or should not have signed in the first place. He is failing his role at the moment because the team is not improving under his tenure this season. The structure at the club is a different debate but one that is more complicated than you might believe or understand. Ken all you seem to do is moan about the moaners without putting forward anything constructive and quite frankly what you do seem to say is born from total ignorance. Ken - please tell us all on the forum how Joka's tactical play set out to combat and beat Aston Villa on Saturday, be great to hear your constructive and knowledgeable viewpoint? Let me guess you won't respond with that info?

The Gaumont was called the Red Hall and the men's outfit shop was not opposite the cinema, the church was, but 50 yards further down just past Farm Lane. The shop was owned and run by a short Jewish man named Phil and an ex Army friend of mine, David Pinfield, used to assist him. The Broadway cinema was further down next to Walham Green Station and was known as the "Bughutch". You had to produce your Identity card to get into an adult film. Remember seeing the French film Clochmel, probably spelt it wrong, in 1952/3. There is still a cinema on the same site called the Vue which I believe is a Morden multi screen job. Sorry to bore all you youngsters.

Tomas Kalas has spoken on the forum- If we really do what we can do, then we're one of the best teams-or the best team in the league... Now, that is some quote and a half, and i too really believe we can be the best in this league. There are a few stipulations to this bold statement, and one is we need to play and show much more confidence in our abilities. We have the opportunity to showcase much more of what we are about tomorrow at Villa park. If we truly want to make progress towards the premier league? Fulham will have to exploit those nice wide and open spaces on a pitch that is supposedly catered to suit us. I watched some highlights of Villa last week, and i can't remember the winger? who absolutely skinned John Terry. Now hands up all those Fulham fans that are saying that we have too many wingers and small people? I have seen footage of our boys training, and our flank players i feel will have an edge in this Villa game. Steve Bruce has ask his team to give him a win against us, but like Kalas say's, play to our talent and capabilities, we will win tomorrow. I think all those near misses and hitting the bar and posts, is a timid and tepid lack of our true character. Confidence is a sure thing when we can start to convert 50 per cent more of our chances we fluff. Fulham just need to start our games stronger and finish them even more stronger....

He turned down Bruce's offer of a kiss and make-up! 14months later, instead playing for either one of strongest two teams in the championship, he is playing third rare football in sunny Australia. Melbourne would struggle against most league 1 teams in England. Personally I think it's really sad as I can't think of another (£14m) player fallen this far in such a short period.

You got it Bish. And yes the Bug Hutch down the side of the Hibernian and station. But what was the cinema back of St John’s, in I guess Vanston Place called, I had it as the Gaumont. Obviously my memory has let me down again. Do remember it was the Regal left off Fulham Road heading for North End Road. Thinking about it I probably haven’t been round that area for maybe 40/45 years.

The whole Sessegnon saga is worrying me, there is no doubt the lad is a very good prospect for the future and every time he has a bad game we are seeming to jump down his throat. Maybe this is a prime example why A player with his talent should move to a bigger club with better players to enhance his development, rather than keep playing for a club that needs wins to survive. Take the 25 Million Fulham and spend it on some ready made players on there way down the footie ladder.

I don't agree. If he were to go, it would be to a premier league team possibly Spurs. I can't see him replacing any of their first choice players, so he will. either be sent out on loan, play with their youngsters, or maybe even occasionally be on the bench.

What makes a good or brilliant manager?how many managers drift over here from continent for a few seasons and actually make a bigger name for them selves?.Luck, money, some coaching skills,? remember most team work outs are by the coaching staff, the manager is often else were. Why do we not deliver any more in Europe,Fergy did it all on the home front after a few seasons and a couple of euro wins,Ranieri did it by luck and a full moon,Klopp what is he about ?some one once said any one can win the prem with enough dosh the manager is just a name on a bit of paper,so English manager do nothing when they work abroad,no manager seems to make any thing of the England set up british or other wise.Love to see a top euro manager take charge of, say Stoke or WBA,, say Pepe or Jose, see how good they are as coaches.

I think you will find all but a very few are actively involved in the everyday training, coaching and tactics. The days of Fergie just turning up to the training ground for an hour are gone. The reason why hodgson and Wenger are still around is because they are still heavily involved in the coaching and training plan. Klopp is definitely a manager involve in all coaching details. So it isn't as much luck as you think but neverthess, the fact you can be considered a great coach one week and not so great the next (e.g. Mourinho) suggests to me there's a bit of luck in their job!

We have to be quick and accruate against a Villia side marshalled by the now aged John Terry. From a Villa fan I know he tells me that the team has been far too static this season. If Tom Crainey plays 90 minitues I would guess a 1 -2 scoreline in our favour. Come on FULHAM
Replies
They all say that we have too many wingers at fulham. I can see the likes of Floyde Aite and Neskins running rings around John Terry. Villa's defence will be putting in a shift for sure!!!

I can see another draw looming, but that will depend on those 50-50 chances that both sides will have. Our away form is good enough to reach parity with any side in this division, albeit Villa will want to make amends for their latest defeat. This season our defence is looking good, but our attack lacks the penetration of last, and if Cairney is sidelined again, I reckon we'll do well to gain a point. Okay, 1-1 this match.

Harsh or a taste of his own medicine? Normally, I'd feel sorry for a manager getting sacked on the basis of a poor run. But in this case, I am on the fence. Its still not clear to me what part Shakespear played getting Renieri sacked last season? The most ridiculous sacking in the history of football managers! The fact Renieri never wished him the best or thanked-him suggest to me he thinks Shakespear played a role in stabbing him in the back. If that's the case, I do not feel sorry for Shakespear at all!
