If there is any truth in the rumour khan is prepared to buy Wembley for £55o million for his stupid gridiron then I hope he loses out. There is of course the poss that he may sell Fulham to help pay for it, I do hope so as he has no interest in our game and even less for the club!GO

Don’t hunk he would sell fulham but definitely don’t want to love to Wembley incase he thinks Fans would appreciate a big stadium. Not!

God knows why you think Khan has no interest in Fulham. He’s done everything Jokanovic wants and brought in the players otherwise we wouldn’t be where we are. Don’t think for a moment he would move Fulham there but he could while the Riverside stand is done.

Total nonsense!! Khan has ploughed millions into our club and tried hard to please the fans. If it weren’t for him we would not be challenging for the Prem and should be respected for such whether you like him or not. Fulham has been extremely luck to have two billionaire investors over the last three decades and I for one am thankful we are not in the position of the likes of Sunderland, Portsmouth, Coventry, Leeds, Glasgow Rangers, et al.....
posted by MST (Moderator) - Thursday 26th April 2018, 1:39 PM

Why would you buy Wembley to play a maximum of 4 American football games that are allowed in this country. I admire Khan for his business ability but I have always believed that his investment in this country was to enhance his American football club. The only time he has attended Fulham matches are on weekends Jacksonville have been here. There would be no sense putting 800 million into something and not using it to its maximum. I hope I'm wrong but he's not going to lose on any investment and selling craven cottage would bring in big bucks to back what he is doing.

When I looked into the bookies yesterday, and picked up a football fixed odds coupon for the weekend, I noticed that Cardiff are 6/5 to beat Hull, and not odds on as I had expected. Of course I want Cardiff to draw, or lose but if they do win, we will probably be spending another season in the Championship, as the play offs are a lottery, and we will no doubt lose out again. I have placed quite a big bet on Cardiff winning, which will soften the blow just a little if they do win, and the winnings will go towards my season ticket for next season. Am I mad or not ? ?

Know what you mean Brian along with other bets I have £40 on Fulham @ 7/1 to finish second with Sky bet, currently the cash out is £159, which I am going to take. My reasoning being if we finish 3rd still have the play offs and £159. Automatic promotion which I desperately want would return £320. Will be so happy to lose that £161 should it happen.

Just for fun...

https://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-cardiff-city-win-championship-14281808

I had:

Wolves 1st with 106 points
Cardiff 2nd with 94 points
Fulham 3rd with 93 points
Villa 4th with 88 points
'Boro' 5th with 79 points
Preston 6th with 78 points

If that happens we will play Preston away first leg of the play-offs and meet 'Boro' in the final perhaps ;-))

All good fun but you need to be as honest as you can.

I had: 1st Wloves 103 2nd. Cardiff 96 3rd. Barca of SW6 95 4th. Aston Villa 87 5th. Derby 79 6th. Bristol City 78 We will play Bristol City in play off and meet Villa at Wembers.....and win

So that’s wolves to win their last nine straight games and us to win 8 and draw one. Which would take our run to 20 wins and 3 draws in 23 matches. Yes, that all seems very likely. Apart from the real world where even Man City couldn’t muster that kind of run...

25 points from the remaining 27?! Very optimistic. If we do that and still fail to catch Cardiff - credit to Cardiff and massive credit to our team! Realistically we need Cardiff to lose 4 and draw one or two of their remaining 9 games to stand a chance!

If we somehow make it automatic, I would wish Cardiff luck in the playoffs. As much as I don’t admire their bland of football and Warnock, they would have given us a good challenge and made it probably the most exciting fight ever for a promotion place in a long time. Without them we probably wouldn’t have gone 23games unbeaten either. So happy to be friends again with them in a couple of weeks time if we go up!! In the mean time, I am the biggest Hull and Reading supporter!!

Sorry real bishop but I can’t agree about the debt being fully paid. I see Tuesday nights favour as a small down payment on the debt of 1983. Events spiralled out of control following the break up of our exciting young team almost vanquishing our great club to the annals of football history. As far as I am concerned they have a long way to go before the disgusting events of that day can be truly forgiven or forgotten.

If anyone has, or knows someone that has, a pair of spare tickets for this game, we are waiting to gladly take them off their hands?

Glenn, from the FFC website: A waiting list will be held, and should any tickets become available by return fans will be contacted on a first-come-first-serve basis. I just realised 0-3 versus Millwall at their ground is the same score as the last time I watched FFC there. Not sure what year, around 77/78?? Ray Evans scored a 30 yard thunderbolt. Whatever happens from now on in will prove to be sublime joy for the few and heartache for the rest. I'm refusing to think we will gain automatic promotion because Cardiff don't have to rely on other clubs results. As has been said so many times just do our bit and keep on winning you can do no more, and let's stop going on about " if only we hadn't dropped points etc" Because WE DID!

Couldn't agree more Badger.Im immensely proud of the way our season has turned around by playing football the way it should be played as Man City have proved attack is the best form of defence so let's hope we get stuck in to Sunderland & Birmingham - take the six points and leave the rest to fate.

I was there Hints and if memory serves I think our old pal Les Barrett was playing for Millwall at the time. My strongest memory of the day was walking back to the station and witnessing a burger van being turned over by a bunch of local Neanderthals. The only reason being that the final results were blaring out from the vendors radio and the announcer had the audacity to confirm the 0-3 scoreline from the Den. Just gotta love the 70s.

If that is the case, you can pay your mortgage off by lumping on Cardiff, as they will overpower Hull's kids. Those dropped two points against Brentford are coming home to haunt us. I wake up at night thinking about those points, and it is doing my head in.

Len, where did you hear that?? No managers would ever say that and absolute no incentive for them to do so? The challenge is whether the players are motivated and prepared to give 110% to win the match. With Hull, they have good players and without the pressure of relegations I actually think they can play well against Cardiff. So I disagree with you that i think you are suggesting it will be a walkover by Cardiff. As I said below, Hull were effectively safe last week already - why would they go an score 5 goals and get a 5-5 draw if they are not trying!

So two games to go and just 1 point separating us from our automatic promotion rivals. I am so pleased that our team did not follow the example of some of our followers and chuck it in at least five games ago. Of course it can still end in tears but what a magnificent effort and great drama. Somebody mentioned that we needed nothing short of a miracle to finish second after Cardiff’s expected victory on Saturday. A total exaggeration of course, we just need to keep plugging away and hope for just one more slip. Leave the whole loaves and fishes scene to J. C aka Johnathan Greening.

Derby should give that Chelsea loanee a runout. At least he has that bit of pace to run at the Cardiff back 4. I cannot see Rowetts logic in his team selections. Norman, a win will not end our auto promotion hopes, it will dent them that's for sure. However, if Cardiff lose or draw against Hull away and then draw or lose their last game against Reading, we will go up providing we win our last two. Simples.

Fulham need nothing less than a miracle to get automatic promotion. Cardiffs opponents appear to be in submissive mood. The irony is that Fulham have themselves to blame, any chance we had was lost when we played Brentford letting them score in 90 plus 4. Whether they deserved a point or not is irrelevant. Yes, we have already made the play offs and may well come up against Millwall again, and maybe they will be out for revenge and probably get it. Sunderland now have nothing to play for and will come to us under no pressure and having beaten us once already may do the same again, lets hope this does not happen. Yes I am in pessimistic mode, I see us at Wembley certainly, but the same old story. Its not all about money and I would rather see Fulham winning most of the time, something that will never happen in the Premiership, remember our away form back then.

Sometimes life doesn't go how you want. If we'd invested in Mitro and Targett in September, we'd be coasting into the Prem. If Cairney had been healthy, if Slav had made Sess a full time midfielder, etc. But that didn't happen, we are where we are. Which is unbeaten in 20+ matches. If Derby were to win or draw, we can keep fantasizing about automatically going up, but that might only lead to disappointment. Better to steel ourselves for a 3-match fight, and if a miracle happens, great.

I really don’t understand why people are so afraid of hope. We all know it’s going to be a big ask but while there is any chance no matter how slim I cannot for the life of me get my head around people throwing in the towel. Whatever we think will not make the slightest difference and those who have already given up will feel equally gutted if we don’t make second spot. If somebody can explain to me the benefit of refusing to be optimistic I am all ears.

To be honest about all this. Tonight's game will probably stop all this discussion. If Derby will then it is all to play for, if they draw we can still have a outside chance but if Cardiff win then we need to start thinking about the playoff's and maybe we will want to use some strategy although not wishing to be overly confident I would say I would want to avoid any of them.

If we have to assume we will win our last two games - so Cardiff just have to drop points in 2 of their remaining 3 games. Whether they lose or draw makes no difference. cardiff fail to win at both Derby and Hull - not an impossible ask! So there’s still hope!

Well, they boast that Chelsea are the best team in London, with Spurs unable to win an FA Cup and Arsenal losing faith in a decent if somewhat uninspiring Manager that may well be. When questioned the think that Chelsea will sell the two players we have on loan at the end of the season as they do not have use for either in the foreseeable future. At least they did not mention Ryan Sessegon who will stay as he twin brother is here at the Cottage. Remember the Morgan twins (Ian and Roger) of QPR ?

It's getting tense.....but the fact is we need to win 2 out of three to get automatic promotion....NW did liken us to a rash that would not go away.... We did not play well v Forest and a better team would have taken their three first half chances. But...we grind out the result - there is a belief and NW has the experience. Fulham must be feeling hard done by to still be behind us after their fantastic run. Despite Derby's form can only see us getting a point there tomorrow. Hull..we can get a result there...and surely we MUST beat Reading... AS for your games, they are not forgone conclusions. Sunderland may now play with freedom.....and Birmingham are tougher now with Gary Monk (even though he is a Swansea Jack...). Would be surprised if you got 6 points.

Warnocks attempts at mind games are both transparent and pathetic. His analogy of Fulham viewing Cardiff as a rash that will not go away is quite clearly how he sees us. Without our team having the audacity to maintain peak form and results surely it is his team that would already be celebrating. The added claptrap of the possibility that we would normally be promoted if we were to reach our target of 91 points can just as readily be aimed at his team if we were to somehow nudge ahead at the finale. You are fooling nobody but yourself Warnock if you think Slavisa Jokanovic has even taken the time to read and digest your ridiculous ramblings. At least it keeps your ego suitably massaged and keeps you high profile in the media. I am guessing you will be happy with that as it is probably the whole point of the excercise.

It’s been a nightmare couple of weeks!! Normally when things are going as well as you want, you’d find something to blame. And when things are going well, you want to celebrate! Unfortunately, I think Fulham’s display at Millwall reflects our feelings - Jakyl and Hyde!! We should be celebrating the fact Fulham are unbeaten in 23, winning most of them, and putting in a great performance in the 2nd half against Millwall. But we are all feeling a bit rubbish because Cardiff just keep coming back and it looks like we’ve ran out of games to get the automatic! And we know the play-offs is always a bit of a lottery and sometimes quality doesn’t count. So I am not sure anyone of us know how to feel - hence we are all a bit MUTED and frankly just want to bury our heads in the sand and come out in 4 weeks time to find out the result! I can’t predict anymore scores - too painful!
Replies
Know what you mean Bruv, there is no reason to think we can't beat any side in the play offs, and whoever it is wont fancy playing us - at our best as in second half against Millwall it will be fine.

Derby owe it to themselves first of all, and with some hard work and effort, can force themselves back into a playoff spot. I would play that pacy guy Palmer from Chelsea from the start. Rowett gives too much respect to his first 11 which is all fine and dandy. If plan A isn't working, he needs to come up with a plan 'B'. At this stage of the season, there are tired legs on both sides. Why not inject some pace in from the start? We can do no more than win our last 2 games, and it is up to Cardiff who have 1 foot into the prem. It depends on how much you want it now, and Derby players seem like they are giving up. That guy Keog who was dropped is a bit calamity, but he tries 100% and maybe he should play against Cardiff, nuff said!

Problem is we changed system yesterday did not help much Palmer is injured and only good a half hour currently. He has loads of ability is still naive in certain situations but I would not be surprised if Rowett throws him in from the start. As for Keogh and I am no great fan he is not as bad as other teams think it is just the way he looks that does not help him.But his mistakes are always big one's take a look at boro's second goal and how Keogh leaves his man ..terrible.Thing in your favour is this could be thanks to Colin spouting off the game they desperately want too win.

Also don't forget Cardiff have to play Derby away on Tuesday night, so, they're gonna be tired after a Saturday evening game and more importantly Derby will be desperate to get into play off places and will give it their all. Prediction: 2-1 Derby. So, Cardiff remain on 86 points. As for Hull, Cardiff will have to play again only 4 days later and it's another away game with a long tiring journey of 4 hours, so assuming they travel up the day before they will still be tired. Prediction: 1-1 draw. and 1 point gained. Total: 87 points. Fulham play on Friday against relegated Blunderland after a near full week of rest, and with the best will in the world I can't see any result other than a thumping. Prediction: 2 or 3 Nil- Fulham 88 points and we go second. So on to final game. Cardiff play Reading at home and fair do's I'll give them a home win. Final points tally - 90. Fulham play scum Brum and I truly believe we have the calss and motivation to beat them, so 3 points. FFC final tally 91 points. result we go up. Another potential outcome is if both teams draw Fulham and therefore 1 point to each team we would go up on goal difference. One word : logic. Of course we we can still do it we have to believe and so must the lads. Taxi for beach.

Of course we can still do it. Some might think unlikely.....but the stats say we CAN still do it, no matter how improbable. You’re either an optimist or a pessimist, it’s that simple. As I have been clearly saying, in the face of the gloom and doomers....we will finish second. I would point out when I first said we would, we were maybe 10/12 points adrift. Living in hope is not a crime, it’s what comes naturally to a committed supporter.

If someone had said to me back in December after we got beaten by Sunderland that we have a run like we have had and that we would be in the position we are in right now I'd have taken it - end of. Another thought, even if we don't get auto spot and we get beaten in the plays offs then simply I'd say we don't deserve a place at the top table. I just cannot see that happening though as we have a superb squad which is a class above last season and I can guarantee you that any of the teams that would have to face us in the p.o's would be sh*tting more than just bricks I can tell you.

Predictions are of no relevance until after Tuesday's Derby v Cardiff match. The outcome of that game, will surely influence our season. Oh how I regret that last seconds Brentford goal. Without that, I feel that we would have been up already. I really hate that mob.

Anything can still happen. You are not going to win every game playing twice a week and staying unbeaten in 22 games is quite phenomenal, Also note that in last 5 games we have only conceded 1 goal. So Cardiff still have to go to Derby and Hull and if they play like last nightI cant seeing them getting 6 points. Derby really need the points so they will up or it and have decent strikers, Hull will be just enjoying their final home game, nice and relaxed. So just pray for 2 Cardiff away draws and job done!

Quite right, still everything to play for. Don’t let the doom mongers tell you any different.

cardiff looked pretty shaky last night , , at home against an average notts team , nerves are stretching , still need 2 wins from 3 games , 2 of which are away, i bet it dont look easy from cardiffs view of things , and like there centre half said after the game ,, fulham keep on winning ,, coyw ,,ps dont worry about mst , he just likes 2 be right , more than he likes auto promotion

And surely Reading won’t be a pushover in their last game! Now with Sunderland gone they won’t have much to play for and Birmingham hopefully maybe safe for last round! It’s never over till the fat lady sings!

Oh well! Derby or Millwall in the play-offs? Derby would be my preference.

No it’s not. Keep the faith. They will draw with both Derby and hull and we will take them to the last game.

It could get much worse yet? I have only got to whisper 1 team? 'BRENTFORD' in the playoffs!!! The only thing we can do now, is win our remaining games and hope that Cardiff slip up somewhere sooner/rather...

It's like the donkey being tempted by the carrot, we go forward one step, and then back two, it's getting very frustrating. The radio report says that Cardiff were terrible and full of nerves, and that they were very lucky to win this one. The trouble now is that Derby lost at home today, and they have gone right off of the boil, and Hull let in 5 goals against Bristol City, so neither of these sides seem good enough to hold a lucky Cardiff. Bah ! ! Play offs here we come, and another Championship season beckons.

What a ray of sunshine and optimism you are to wake up to on a sunny Sunday morning MST. It’s getting to look like you want us to fail to reach second place just to prove you right. Not a good look!! Cardiff were poor last night, really we’re lucky to get 3points. Hull whilst letting in 5 scored 5. Derby NEED to beat Cardiff to qualify for the Play Offs. Everything still to play for.

I would much rather be a naive optimist than a fully paid up member of the realist club. I believe that the gloom and doom merchants are going to be equally gutted if we miss out on second spot so really where is the harm in hoping for the best.

Think you’ll find there’s more chance of Brentford taking the 6th spot. Both Derby and Millwall have two very tough fixtures. Brentford have easier games.

I was thinking earlier on who was the smaller Club QPR or Brentford, and then realised they are equally small. I know there is always room for small clubs in any town, but wouldn’t it make sense for them to merge to make just one small club in West London, any thoughts on what they could call themselves ?

Made me laugh last night with both the BBC and Sky Sports saying that The Den was a sell out. Anyone with the eyes of a foetal ant could see that behind the goal, where FFC were on the top tier, it was empty bar 3 knuckle draggers, also, as the capacity of the ground is supposed to be 20k and the attendance was 16k it kinda stinks of crap reporting. Been on the Millwall site today - https://millwall-forum.vitalfootball.co.uk/ - am loving it. Fecking bad losers.

Only gave ffc top tier !,, could have done with a few more hope if we arrive there in play offs we get more. Well done travellers great support out sung home fans at times great night all round (why did we allow bitters and plkeys to get away with draws we would be promoted now !!!

Now now Len the hard facts are that we blew 4 points which may well have cost us automatic promotion. But on the plus side if we play like we did in the second half of last nights game none of the other sides in the play-offs will beat us!

Respects to the great Roy Bentley, who has just died , remember the day he arrive as a striker at the cottage from Chelsea and then got injured, some time after got converted to center back and there were calls (from the crowd) to play for England in that position even though he was getting on a great warrior.

Saw your comment on the "wall" site. You were one brave little Reginald, all the way from marbellya weren't you. They were saying good things about us & our working class supporters. Their fans are good salt of the earth people for the most part. They only gently criticised the metro mangina "clappertwats" that attach themselves to our home games. They shouldn't have to put up with foul mouthed gloating on their forum any more than we should.

22 unbeaten, what a superb team we have, will be disappointed if we get 91 points and miss out on automatic promotion but it’s out of our hands. Was at the game last night travelling to and from the game was memorable so hostile not an easy ground to pick up 3points.defenitely don’t want to go there for the play offs.atmosphere last night was best so far this season!!

Thats the problem Often we hear ‘ we ‘ will get all this money for the likes of Sess and Cairney. It’s not ‘ our ‘ money they are not ‘ our ‘ assets, and the owner will do whatever they want with ‘ their ‘ money. Ask any Sunderland or Blackpool fan

Southgate would be a fool not to take Sessengnon to the World Cup!! Some people say we cannot make the same mistake that Sven did who took Walcott in 2006. Rubbish! We cannot compar the two situations. Walcott did not play a senior game when he was called. Sess has played over 70 games. Sess has scored over 20 senior goals. Sess will be marginally older by the summer. Walcott was a complete wildcard. Sess won’t be an showed he can managed and look after himself. I thought he handled the boos and abuse exceptionally well last night. The argument he might not get a game is also a complete rubbish. Many squad players will also be there just to warm the bench. If we need a bit a spark come 70mins, can’t think of anyone outside the likely starting 11 better than Sess. Lastly, Southgate has a chance to forever know as the England manager taking Sess to the World Cup, at personal level, he’d be a fool not to take him!!

As a Fulham fan for over fifty years I have experienced everything with our glorious team. However I don’t think that any Fulham fan has seen a run like this in their lifetime and at times breathtaking at any level. Yes slight setbacks QPR Brentford but this second half slowed real clinical class from without doubt, the best team in this league. We will go up whatever and everyone should be proud at the turnaround since Christmas as most of us felt no chance of promotion at that time. To all the doubters trust me I sense we are definately unstoppable. Enjoy the sun but enjoy Fulham more. Proud of my team Kevin.

As an American, I became a Fulham fan during the McBride era. The highlight for me was the Europa League run under Roy. I love that team, and the magic of beating Juve and other big clubs. This season has been the best since that run, hands down. Slav is our best manager since Roy. This team deserves to go up. Let's hope the football gods see it the same way.

McBride - loved him. Mitro is best fwd since BM and that includes Berbatov. No surprise we have done well with a strong front man who applies pressure to the defensive line throughout the game, holds the ball well and knows where the goal is. Zamora should get a shout as he was brilliant as well, esp against Juve. Brian turned us round for the great escape with his goal against Reading. Great times and here we go again.

Yup Drago, let's hope. This group deserves it. Fantastic footballing side we have. Would be able to hold up reasonably well in the prem as is if we get there but we would add. The "great escape" would be my go to YouTube viewing. Will never forget listening early morning when Danny Murphy netted at Fratton Park to keep us up. Can't wait for an epic May afternoon at Wembley. We will do it!
