I read somewhere Fulham just signed another commercial contract with a CFD trading company (CMI?). For those who don't. this is basically Ladbroke for the rich! With the casino, is our commercial strategy on gambling? We just need to sign up Wonga or quickquid to complete the set. At what point we breach the ethical line? mmm..

Slavisa Jokanovic has revealed that Fulham know which players they will be targeting in January and hopes to have deals concluded at the start of the month.

The summer transfer window saw 11 signings made, while Sone Aluko and Scott Malone both left the club, and the club now have targets in mind for the January window.

The head coach has made it clear that he thinks the side aren’t clinical enough in front of goal in recent weeks, while he also wanted to add a defender in the summer.

And with January fast approaching Jokanovic has revealed the intention is to plug the missing gaps in the Fulham side.

He said:“I have the targets and it’s clear what we need.

“The club has agreed what positions we need to improve in the future and now it’s a question of how we are going to make the job.

“What I prefer, and what all the coaches in the world prefer, I expect we will make this job in the beginning of January, not at the end of this month.

“The intention is to try find an element that we are missing in these few months and try to be stronger, more solid and more competitive in the time that is ahead of us.”

Bad news on Fulham TV site,Kabano and Aite are not travelling up to Sunderland. We are getting a bit carried away with ourselves on this site, and we always fall into this trap. I don't want us to go up to Sunderland thinking we have the points in the bag. Let's get that win first then we celebrate! Apparently, Slavisa has challenged our fringe players to be ready! So the likes of Mollo, Jordon Graham, Marcelo Djalo, Ibrahima Cisse, and Rafa Soares, will get their chance up Sunderland. You can see why i am a bit nervous now? If no one has twigged yet? They are mostly picked by our so-called expert Kline-the divine!!! I am slightly nervous, and at the same time looking forward to see what these guys are made of. Interestingly, if things go our way? there might even be a hidden gem from klines rejects that might be worth keeping. Fulhams season gets more interesting as we go along. By the way, good news! Piazon won't travel up, but he will be ready along with Aite and Kabano for the game after Sunderland, whoever that is. BRING IT ON GUYS!!! COME ON FULHAM!!!

Picked by Kline you say ,but who coaches them and tells them how to play? So who to blame.

Harry' i understand your point up to a level, but at the same time, you must agree that Slavisa has got no choice but to play these guys. Our squad is obviously depleted, and in better circumstances, Slavisa would not have entertained these guys. It is not so simple in saying Slav trains them, they are reluctant squad members, and we need their services. It is as simple as that! Still looking forward to see what they are made of...

I agree to a point but when you take AK47 as an example why would any manager pick him. You would be better placed giving Edun or Sessegnon a game up front. We are not really short of attacking options if you do this but SJ doesn’t do this. Sess scored 3 at SU and was back at LB next game and looked terrible because he is not at a defensive player. I hated Kliene but statistical analysis has a place in transfers as both LCFC and S’ton used it to get promotion. That’s how they found Vardy. I just fear SJ is one dimensional and not open to change and this is a serious problem if we want to compete. If I owned the club I would have one eye on getting in a new manager - indeed I would have done that last month so I took adv of the transfer window.

New definition of insanity; get rid of 3 influential players(Martin, Malone,Aluko), don't replace them, lose the best player in the division for several games( Cairney), endure several other injuries that have further depleted the squad, and then expect the results to be better than last year. Birmingham last year in the top ten and even in the playoff spots, change the manager thinking the grass is greener, now look at them. Headed to the third division. Two questions. Who would the anti Slava group get to manage and why? And who on the U23 and/ or the substitute list the last few weeks has shown any ability to contribute to the success of the club and has been overlooked by the manager? I respect all true supporters and their opinions. We all support our club and want success, even if we don't agree on the path. Slava has frustrated me as well, but he's still the best man for the job and deserves support at this stage of the season. Definitely deserves one transfer window that he can call his own and then we'll see.

I don’t agree that Martin was influential, he was a pain in the arse and difficuot to manage and didn’t score a lot or act as a foil. Aluko I liked but what’s he done since he left us, he isn’t top draw. Malone was great - I give you that one. I don’t expect success. I just want a manager who shows flexibility and gives the team the best chance of success and my point in that SJ doesn’t do this.

We have to be wary going up north to Sunderland. Chris Coleman would have done his homework on Fulham. We have our weaknesses, and rest assured, Chris will no doubt, have a plan to beat Fulham. Ream got man of the match against Birmingham, and our back four will need to put in a shift for sure. We know they need a win, and add to it the Chris Coleman factor, there is extra spice to this game. Slavisa will need to pull out a managers masterstroke, just like he did against Newcastle away last season. There are questions asked about Slavisa and his dubious tactics, and this is the perfect away game to show them they are wrong to question him, and the rest of us want to see a more together Fulham side, and a few goals will do thank you very much! This is show time Saturday, and not only do we need to put in a shift, Fulham also need to create and convert a lot more chances than they have been doing. We need to be working on corners much more, Fulham are not making the most of them..

I don't see the problem. I would take it for granted you would want someone from your own nation managing your National team unless you are playing a sport you new to and have no history with , like if the home nations decided to produce a national baseball team , we would have to get Americans in because we don't have our own home grown managers . problem here is saying it , it should be taken for granted Wales should be able to produce a Manager. Which is why I always thought England employing Sven was really embarrassing as Germany,Italy or Spain would never have done that.

If he had left it at "we would like the next manager to be Welsh" no one would have batted an eyelid however, what he said was Xenophobic and if he had said it about "ANY" other country; Germany, France, etc. even he would/should have been summarily dismissed.

When I am recruiting I cannot even specify a gender or an age let alone a nationality and nothing winds me up more than the anti-English overtures we get from our home nations.

I really feel that our players are not earning their inflated balloons. In most games several players rarely complete their balloon animals. They lack pride in their helium and are appear to be unconcerned about the children who contribute to the salaries and turn out birthday party in and birthday party out regardlessly. "Balloon artists" you should be ashamed and it is time you rolled up your clown gloves and be prepared to blow balloons for your children and England.

I just hope we don't lose our heads down here at SW6, to sell Sess, and use the big money on 2 players for what? To gamble on getting out of this division next year? It didn't work for Middlesboro, and why should it work for Fulham? It seems to be working for Wolves because they have the right people around them, but i can't say that we have! What is wrong in grafting and working hard on the pitch with what we have first? Because wants we get to the prem, the spending goes up and up, just to stay in the top flight! The way how business is done now, is to watch a player on a u-tube video, and to then take it from there. That isn't working for Fulham, and we need to do more thinking when buying new players. We need a centre forward, but don't go too crazy on the spending. I say spend about 3-4-or 5 million tops on a striker,to help us get out of this division. The bigger money is needed when we get to the prem. If we are not interested in the likes of Cameron Jerome? Then go for somebody lower down the leagues. No doubt somebody knows some good barain basement players? Who knows, we might discover another Vardy? Idon't know what we should do with Kamara? Other than putting electrodes to his legs, and wire him to a remote control? How about giving him some extra shooting practice in training? Honestly' i would get him a shirt with ( AK47-ROW-Z) That might motivate him to score goals!!!!!

Owen, you suggest we spend 3 - 5 million on a striker in January , you wont get much for that as prices are always a little higher than in the summer. As a guide of what you get for that sort of money we sold Sone Aluko to Reading for £7.5 million in August so in the summer he would be around 8 or 9 million. I would go the other way spend a bit more and see how much it would cost to buy Lewis Grabban who is on loan at Sunderland from Bournmouth and knows where the goal is.

Tezza, louis Grab is an excellent choice! I agree we need to spend a bit more. Hopefully Ream and co can knit together nicely, and we wouldn't need to worry too much about spending on defenders. Bettonelli will help the situation....

If, and it's a big if, we manage to unload all the no-hopers and bench warmers Kline brought in, it wouldn't be enough to buy one decent player in any of the needed positions. There's little or no headroom under FFP as the available monies were wasted and cannot be recouped. We have to sell before we can buy. Now the lustre has gone from Cairney (for good?) that really only leaves Sessegnon as the cash cow, but the deal has to be done very early in the window. Maybe it's already been done on a handshake, which might account for SJ continually playing Sess out of position as has become apparent to all. Mourhino has links to the club and it would fit his M.O. As for looking for a replacement at left back, what happened to the great white hope Soares?
Replies
Arizonan, i have always suspected that Slavisa plays games for one reason or another. Sess is a good example by playing him in a suicidal position against John Terry. I suspect that he has been doing it all along with Klines rejects also. That is why he deserves a season or two to gather his own squad. I suspect that he is much cleverer than he has been showing.....

Owen I agree. Think SJ has his own agenda, why suddenly drop Button because his "distribution" needs improvement, it's been bad all season. Why hasn't Soares filled the LB position. Academy players seem to take preference over imports. Perhaps I'm reading too much into SJ's actions but to me it's almost a deliberate act of sabotage. Thoughts anyone?

Manchester United have reportedly been given a big boost in their pursuit of Fulham's rising star Ryan Sessegnon.

Jose Mourinho is in the market for a new left-back and Sessegnon is becoming one of the country's most coveted teenagers after breaking through at Fulham.

And according to the Sun, Mourinho has been given the 'green light' to push ahead with a £50m bid with Fulham targeting his replacement ahead of the January transfer window.

It is said that the London club are increasingly resigned to losing Sessegnon next month with United and Tottenham circling and are already looking for a new left-back.

The 17-year-old can also play further forward on the left flank and has four goals for the Championship side this season.

Meanwhile, the Sun reports that Mourinho has had talks with Marouane Fellaini in an attempt to get him to extend his contract.
Replies
£50 million for Sessegnon?...if it's achievable, no hesitation, open the box, take the money. That kind of money puts us in the market for a couple of decent strikers, as well as a left back. With a few quid left over re-paint the cottage, which looks a bit weather beaten these days.

With respect JBH, I cannot agree with you. What manager would not want to sell any player of 17 years of age who, let's face it, right now aint that good (regardless of his potential) for £50m?

I bet Joka is rubbing his hands together right now!
posted by 1879 (Guest) - Tuesday 12th December 2017, 4:12 PM

If this is accurate, Which I doubt, but even if someone was prepared to give £30 million if you gave a decent manager which Joka is and said here you can spend it all on new players you want then I do not see him having a problem with that. Ryan is a great prospect at 17 years old but we need 3 or 4 top players to get us out of the championship and Joka finds good players for next to nothing Sone Aluko or on loan Oliver Norbet what would he find if he actually had some money to spend . It what a manager job is picks the tactics ,picks players and does transfer deals so far he has only been able to really do 2 of these tasks.

Fulham need to be careful, and not end up like Middlesboro who spent an awful amount of money. If we sell Sess, and spend money on 2 so called big name players? What guarantee will we have of getting out of this division? I like Wolves chances because they are collecting the points to get promoted, but Middlesboro gambled and failed miserably. Wolves obviously have decent backroom people and people who identify and know who they are going for. You can't say that about Fulham anymore. We used to have decent people who could find gems, but can we trust ourselves at SW6? no!!! In any case, if one gets to the premiership, we need to spend big again just to have a chance of staying in it. I am keeping my eye on big spending Huddersfield, and Newcastle, because if it all goes tits up for those clubs, they will go into meltdown just like Portsmouth did ....

With respect 1879 why sell Sess to Manu U for £50mil when if the reports about him are correct from people in the know, he is better than Bale was at that age??

Joka rates him highly and I believe there are a number of players he would rather sell than the youngster and for that reason I believe he would walk away if the club sold him in the January window.
posted by JBH (Guest) - Tuesday 12th December 2017, 5:27 PM

Hi JBH. Sess will leave at some point whether now or in a year so in my view it is best to cash in. Neither of us believe £50m is anything like what we will get up front or with add ons so to some extent it’s a moot point but as a general rule we have to sell our best assets to survive and when a cash cow comes along you have to shake it by the hand. Joka’s stock has never been lower than it is right now so can’t see him leaving to be honest.

We can and we surely will do a lot better from now on. The tide has turned, and now i think we have the wind in our sails. Bettonelli is back between the sticks, Tom Cairney is near 1oo% fit, Aite and piazon should be near, and jan window is around the corner. Has anyone looked at the league table lately? 4 decent teams below us, Brentford, Reading, Sheff Weds, Norwich. No doubt in my mind some above us will surely drop points, so all to play for still. Are Fulham fans one of the worst critics concerning their team? Rightly so most of the time because we want our team to win every week, but sometimes, we do beat our players up with the verbals too much. Just like Bettonelli chomping at the bit, i can't wait for the Sunderland game now. Chris Coleman without Gareth Bale! What was he thinking? 'EASY' EASY''? He will find out the hard way, just like Lennon moving from Celtic! The easy life ain't in this division by a long chalk! The only person who gets an easy life around here, is 1 lucky spiv by the name of 'ARIZONAN' who is chilling out 247 in that californian sunshine, lucky Begger!!!

People will be outraged at this , and then they will turn a blind eye to get their Uber home , because it's cheap. Biggest sleaze bags on the planet. You name it , Uber are behind it. 1 woman gets raped every 11 days , yet they still use them. Let's face facts here, we need a CF, and who is available? Is very limited! My ideal striker is Vydra at Derby County, but there is no chance of getting him. Vydra would suit our style perfectly, because he has the mobility and skill that would complement our movement. Sadly he doesn't have that height advantage that we lack in our squad. It is difficult to get everything we want in a striker at a reasonable price. All Fulham fans, we can't be too fussy, because we will find that half the prem boys also want Cf's, and they are in short supply. January is a awkward month anyway and i think that Norwich will want double what we offer. If i say £3 million for gerome? i guarantee, Norwich will want 6. Gerome can give us height, hold up play, threats at corners we win. At the moment, we waste 99% of corners by going short, because we know that if we put one over and in the box area, it will come to nothing! I think the last time we nearly scored from one, was when Floyde aite glanced one off his head, decent chance, but he is a wee short. Get Cameron Gerome in our squad, and see the difference! By that time, we should have piazon, and aite back. Fulham could mount a late charge for the top 6 in jan. Never say never, nothing is impossible!!!!!

I know that your posts are nearly always positive Owen, however Cameron Jerome is not a prolific goal scorer and that's what we need. We have under Kline made signings that Slavisa did not consider or require, so hears a novel suggestion how about letting him indicate who he wants, and then judge him.

Whoever we buy it needs to be done on the 1st of Jan not the 31st of Jan....Dont mess around, transfer deadline day is for the long shots or Prem Lge players not getting a game desperate for a loan move. Get the transfers done early and give everyone a boost!

Guy's, i suggested we go in for the likes of Cameron Jerome because in January, there will be so much competition for strikers, we will find it difficult to compete for one. Almost all teams want a prolific striker, and they are hard to find. Taking a look at our team as a whole, you will see that there is nobody that prolific, and the goals ratio is on average about 10? We managed to get ourselves into the play-offs with this average, which is okay. What is not okay at the moment, is our squandered chances when we take corners! Would i be happy if Cameron Jerome could come in and score 10-12 goals for the season? I would be ecstatic!!! If Jerome was a lot more prolific, i really think that his services would be more in demand. You have got to look at our team, and how we have set up, and it is perfect for Jerome to come in with the likes of Ojo up front. Infact when Floyde Aite and piazon comes back in, Fulham will be awesome! We will have lots more of a threat, especially when the likes of Cairney and co really find their feet. Trust me, if we can get Cameron Jerome, we will do just fine. We have gambled on too many iffy oversea players, and i don't fancy us going in for another unknown. At least we know what we will get from jerome, and if he doesn't score many? he will still draw defenders around him, and that will allow our flankers to cause more damage. Bettonelli was enthusiastic on Fulham TV, and he thinks that we are frightening to the opposition going forward, and he is well pleased with his clean sheet. Bettonelli can improve from now onwards. It is up to Jokanovic now who we will buy in january, i hope he makes a good call...

I work with a Norwich fan , and whilst she agrees Jerome is muscular , enthusiastic and can hold play up , he rarely scores and hardly gets a full game now . Quote " Needs 6 chances to get one goal " . I agree with the principle we need a tall , physical player but I am not convinced he is the answer . There must be options within Prem squads or even better in the lower division looking to move up . Depends how good are scouts are - on previous evidence not great when it comes to sourcing strikers , better with defenders .
posted by Davidk (Guest) - Monday 11th December 2017, 2:50 PM

Okay David' i agree on those points. It is up to Janko now to make that call. One last point on Jerome, sometimes a change of scenery can bring a fresh rejuvenated reaction from players. The objective for Fulham would be to get in play-offs, and maybe a promotion. That would have to be on a budget, and we wouldn't want another gamble on a £10 million unknown from abroad again. Like i say,Slavica's call now....

It's sod's law' Birmingham missed a penalty! Our season should have been better last season but for missed penalties. It was a soft one at that, and sometimes a little football man in a dream, puts things right? Seriously, we deserved that one, and all Fulham fans should take that! We are a well documented depleted squad, and most fans think that a half our squad are a waste of time. There is 1 shining light for me, and that is Ojo! I don't know what Liverpool make of him? But i would sign him. If anyone who subscribes to Fulham TV? listens to Ojo, he talks passionately about Fulham. Considering that he has been out of action a long time, it is a welcome boost and a relief, that Ojo can come back into the squad running. A lot of players need more time to work themselves in, but Ojo thankfully has managed that. Oliver Norwood will also prove to be a good signing. I don't know if Fulham fans realise that Norwood has racked up a lot more minutes in game time than all our international call ups. Norwood will be a lot better when he is fresh for Fulham. We are a strange lot down at SW6, we sign players on contracts that are not quite good enough, and yet we have 2 loan players in Ojo and Norwood who we should have signed. We have a mish-mash of a squad, and yet we still could pull a rabbit out of the hat. All it takes is 1 or 2 signings in january, and the right centre forward might make a difference. This all over the place and quirky Fulham squad, could surprise a reluctant fan base yet. James Bond likes a Martini shaken but not stirred! I sense a flicker of something trying to wake up, and i sense a stir in this bunch of misfiring misfits of a squad. Don't give up on Fulham just yet!!!!!!

We won again and kept a clean sheet . But we should have been 3 or 4 up , not hanging on again at the end . Birmingham were pathetic , and their own fans ironic cheering summed them up . " how sh-t must you be , it's only 1-0 " sort of summed up the game , We just don't do fast and direct , it's Triangle passing over 10 yards without any thrust . Delighted to see Betts back in team , but in all honesty his distribution is no better than Button . We seem to be coached to play it up the wing but it's usually to a player right on the line and tightly marked , so no room for error . We just don't have the players for that type of system . Delighted with a win , but expect so much more . Hopefully January will seem so new blood coming in , and early in the month not players who are signed on the 31st and carrying an injury as seems to be our habit .

Completely agree Davidk but I still think we will turn it around at some stage.Obviously it could be too late by then for this season.I'm thinking maybe it would be better to see this season out and hope that SJ can muster a few signings of his own choosing in the summer. He must have been very frustrated this season trying to get mediocre players to play his style of football with one hand tied behind his back.

Yes 'Really' I have been to every home game this season and whilst our performances haven't been great as I posted earlier we achieved the same result against a side who only 6 days earlier lost 1 - 0 to the league leaders, our season has been stop start which personally I put down to a lot of bad buys in the summer plus numerous injuries to key players since week one.

This league is tough and 3 points gained any week is a plus also we have just won 10 points from our last 5 games which is heading in the right direct.

Slav's post match comments are not a lot different to last seasons at this stage so I for one do not have a problem with them

I suppose you would like to see him sacked because he doesn't fill you with joy!?
posted by JBH (Guest) - Sunday 10th December 2017, 1:16 PM

What does not fill me with joy is his tactics.Sess playing as a defender,Johansen as a centre forward.Daft substitutions and obsession with playing out from the back regardless. Luckily Betts decided himself to play a long ball towards Ojo when necessary. Then there all this tip tap across the box going nowhere.JOK is very slow to learn from his mistakes.

Interesting statement from Tom Cairney here, and i had those thoughts also. Cairney goes on to say that a top 6 finish was an amazing achievement, and that the loss was a big disappointment which sent our boys into meltdown. This can happen and they are only human after all. It happened to reading etc etc. I know we should be worrying about our own backyard, but sometimes we need to look at the other factors that cause a team to go into meltdown. Our signings weren't good, and the injury crisis has got to be a factor. Kalas talked about the endless mileage travelling to internationals and coming back. It does affect one's performance. Slavisa is still kind'a experimenting with formations, and maybe switching young Sess from left back to further up the pitch, is a bad idea. Fans were crying out for Bettonelli, and now he is in, maybe we can go on a run! Bettonelli needs a lot more game time to shake the rust, and he will get better. Sometimes a change brings one some luck, and Bettonelli looks lucky for Fulham. It might be tough finding a suitable CF after xmas, and i was kinda hoping that Derby would slack off, and drop points? Sadly they are on a winning run, and my dreams of poaching Vydra are slipping away. I figured that Slavisa would have his phone number from his Watford days, and we could poch him, no chance there! Anyway this win is a little consolation, and a few more will see Fulham fans happy into the new year. Let's hope our boys can keep it rolling, they really care and they are as disappointed with their performance as we are. Let's support them even more! COME ON FULHAM!!!!!!!

To be fair to Fonte, he is a bit short of fitness and passing a bit short. That simply boils down to being in and out of the side. We can't expect brilliance from players coming in and out of the team. It must be a mini-nightmare not knowing if you are in or out of a team. Some players can make more of an impact coming back, and one player i would sign no questions asked is OJO!!! Fonte needs a confidence builder, then you will see the best of him. Not sure if his best is good enough though, and that goes for a few more of Klines computer signings. They know given a chance, they will need to play their backsides off to get a contract next season!!!

Betts back is good news. Californian nailed it, the poor season is on Kline, not Slav. We lost Malone and Aluko, two key cogs. We’ve also had injuries, Cairney, Piazon, Ojo, Ayite. I predict we’ll be 7th by end of January.
posted by Drago (Guest) - Saturday 09th December 2017, 6:49 PM

Really? Really? With the exception of De la Torre and Button, the substitutes were summer signings and are all completely useless. Slav can only work with what he's been given. With the injuries and players sold, he has nothing to go to late in a game week in and week out. Possibly the worst part is Kline signed these guys to multi year contracts so we're stuck with them. Slav's managing hasn't slipped, our roster has. The player quality is way below last year.

The only new player in the starting line up was the best player on the pitch. Other than that we had 10 players who haven't improved as a team at all. You can't blame anyone else for that however much you try. One of the worst teams in the league should have snatched a point today and if you think thats okay you set yourself very low standards. I don't expect to see any improvement until we get rid of Slav.

Really if you think we can be successful with only 10-12 players over 8 months and 46 league games plus cups you're kidding yourself. Besides the ten from last year and Ojo, Norwood we have absolutely nothing useful. An absolute fact. Blaming a manager who had ZERO influence on signings is crazy. Would like to know who you think can manage this roster of only defenders and midfielders. The season has been a huge disappointment but the blame goes squarely at Kline and those that enabled him. After what we learned of the circus while he was there, how could anyone think otherwise.

Anyone who goes every home match and sees the same clueless football with exceptional limited tactics and ideas. Poor substitutions and no new ideas. This together with players on the pitch who seem to have no idea how they are supposed to be playing. That's who.

Being 10 hours away with a good tailwind only allows me 2-3 games a year so you got me beat there. As for substitutions, looking at today's list, you tell me who could come on and make in impact in this division. As for players not knowing what they're supposed to do, they won 1-0. Clean sheet at home. Should Slav suit up so we can finally have someone who can finish in front of goal or is that the boards responsibility to get someone who can?

We won 1-0 at home against a poor Birmingham side because they missed a penalty otherwise we would be two points worse off. The performance was mediocre at best and poor in places. He says he changed the formation in his post match but I saw nothing different but the same struggle once we scored. The system isn't working but look at the stats. The same subs come on week in week out at nearly the same times. Why put graham and mollo on the bench if you are never going to use them. Yes we have players to come back in but will they make the difference. I personally don't see the football being produced succeeding.

Excuse me, but who runs away with games consistently in the Championship when leading 1-0, no matter how bad the other team is? Wolves were up 1-0 at B'ham after 8 mins last week and that was the final score. Very few teams across Europe consistently close out games "easily", and those that do tend to have very good strikers. At Fulham we have none. Fonte is useless - but that was pretty much clear given his track record, and Kamara, whose first touch is dreadful, at this level, and given his experience m, is useless, too. As for the rest of the team, who do we have really that is so good that we ought to believe we should be an automatic promotion candidate? "17" loanees - mostly quality young players, yes, but with little experience at this level, a bunch of nobodies we signed from abroad, a bunch of free agents, and 4-5 guys who are very good Championship level guys (Carney, McDonald, Ream, Johansen, ...). Fredericks is special sometimes I must admit; Ryan is great but still a kid and he looks more and more like a winger or a wing-back in a 3-5-2 than like a fullback. In any case, we do neither have a particularly deep squad, nor a very experienced one, nor one with even 1 decent striker. Oh and we lost probably 2 of our top6 players from last season in Malone and Aluko (huge difference maker for us last year) to replace them with no one and one quality, yet very young loanee respectively. I don't know why most people here seem to think we have a top2 or top4 squad in the Championship, the track record of our players does not back that. Cut the manager some slack (yes, some creativity would not be too bad at times but he has the bodies that he has, and remember, we were the best team in the league last year during certain spells), wait for some of our injured guys to come back, and hope for some striker signing! Come on Fulham!

I would just like to put on record that I support your point of view Californian, and you can assume from that Really that I think your out with the fairies with yours, and I do know not everybody agrees with me and so never make claims like you do.I am a season ticket holder so have seen the games, and apart from some strange subs decisions I do not believe there is a better available manager than the one we already have.

Bettonelli won't be at his sharpest yet, and we will need to give him time to work his way back in, especially kicking long. Great start though, no goals conceded. Sometimes when you change something, you change your luck, and that is the way the cookie crumbles. Bettonelli is a luckier goalkeeper!!!!

The sun is a good read today about the championship, and here is a little bit about 1 club in particular who should be doing better than Fulham..(Big spending Middlesbrough are known as the Galacticos of the division but manager Garry Monk apologised to fans for a poor 2-1 loss to Bristol city. But a 4th loss in 5 against Ipswich tomorrow could mean saying sorry to chairman Steve Gibson) Guy's we can be thankful that we haven't gone over the top with our spending at SW6, and that is a chairman's opinion. I hope chairman Khan is very generous come the January window and put right the mistakes from his stats man kline, or we really could be in trouble like Gary Monk. Steve Gibson doesn't have a whole world of patience, and he will wield the axe on Monks career. I am not trying to make excuses for our camp, but the championship race is very tough indeed and i think we all need to calm down, take a breath and give our boys the support they need, and we will make a turnaround. We have lost to the both sides of Bristols and to other teams now, and i think Wolves apart, Fulham can see silly mistakes for why we lose. I am sticking to 1 theory on our back 4, and that is we need to sharpen up, the international breaks havn't helped us. Ryan Sess we know shouldn't play left back. Our striker situation is well documented so no need to harp on about that. Middlesboro and others will be feeling the same kind of pressure. It would be interesting to ask every footballing fan who thinks their club is underperforming, who would they swap places with??? Fulhams plight isn't an impossible or hopeless one, and we still have a lot of talent here. I get a good feeling that if we click, the wheels will turn again. Slavisa Jokanovic can play his part in all this by fielding a Fulham side that can coordinate and crucially go on a winning run. It can happen if we all believe.....

We are constantly being told what a hard division this Championship Division is, but just because its repeated so many times, it doesn’t make it true. I cannot see any teams that are that good, and, with better buying and management, the proverbial cream will always rise to the top. Last season, we made the playoffs, despite having an awful first half...this year we have bought badly, and, I’m afraid, been managed poorly. Our preseason preparations were woeful, and we have failed to recover since. SJ is making weird choices e.g. retaining Button, and we are making our lives more difficult than necessary.

Yes Owen I read that article with interest, and that Sun pull out on a Friday is quite interesting. However, it would be nice if they mentioned Fulham from time to time, as we are certainly not flavour of the month, either with the Sun, or the Daily Mail's pull out on a Monday. Blackburn Rovers get more column time than we do. It's both frustrating and annoying.

I really feel that our players are not earning their inflated salaries. In most games several players rarely break into a sweat. They lack pride in their Club and are appear to be unconcerned about the fans who contribute to the salaries and turn out week In and week out regardlessly. Fulham players you should be ashamed and it is time you rolled up your sleeves and be prepared to fight for your club and fans.

Getting away from football for a moment, and turning to cricket. I am a very keen cricket follower, and I would even watch the tests in Australia, despite England's poor displays, but I am unable to do so, as I do not have BT, and I do not intend to get it either, so my interest in this test series is almost nil. Is it just me, or do other cricket followers on this site feel the same. I can't believe that not one of the TV channels are even showing any highlights in the evening, although of course highlights are few and far between, as far as England are concerned.

Listening to Jim and Jamie from Beyond the Mic, i agree with jim, we can and should be doing better than we have been doing! If Ojo had buried that chance before halftime who knows? A proper centre-forward was needed in that situation. Mistakes in team tactics by Slavisa, and the sending off of Odoi cost Fulham that game. We will be short of a proper defender if Ream isn't fit for the weekend, and that could be troublesome. We all know our shortfalls, it is well documented, and there is nothing we can do before January. There should really be no need to keep harping on about it. Ask yourselves a honest question, are Fulham really that bad deep down? Can we do better? And should we be doing better? My answer is yes' to all 3, Tom Cairney might be talking fairy tales, but i genuinely think Tom and all the players know they should be doing better!!! All we have to do now, is to go out and prove it! A decent run of winning games from now until Christmas would see us shoot up the table. This is all possible because we beat Sheff utd, Forest, drew Middlesboro/tough, notts Forest we beat, Cardiff we should have won we drew. Anything is possible and we are capable, we just need to turn up from now on. I am not saying we won't concede goals, we have a leaky defence, we always concede goals, but we are more than capable of doing better than what we have been doing! Even with a below standard squad, and every Fulham fan knows this deep down!!!!!

I was listening to Talk Sport and the conversation could have been all about Fulham FC, The Director knowning better than their Manager/Trainer, Buying players the Manager did not like or want, too many Loan signings, it was only when I got to the end of the programme I understood they were talking about underachieving West Ham United. O.K. our club is not involved in the huge some say fraud of the British taxpayers that the Board of West Ham United have done - at the London statium, but one thinks I am glad we are still at the Cottage and NOT in the same situation of having our ground sold by Director who have cashed in on their major asset the old Boylen Ground the profit of which is going in the pockets of those self same Director. Good old Jimmy Hill, who had the Cottage Grade 2 Listed and no owner can take that apart. What a champion of our club he was!

Well said Rich.. sensible "big picture" perspective. There's a little bit too much “we won a game or two, play offs here we come”, and “oh no we lost a game or two, sack the manager, we’re going down” going on around here.

Rich, you can’t blame West Ham for taking advantage of the ludicrously generous taxpayer subsidy they were handed on a plate. They saw it as a chance to join the top table of London Premiership clubs, all of whom have, or will be, upping sticks and moving to new, bigger stadiums. I'm sure if we were based at the other end of the District Line, we'd have taken it as well. This deal all about saving face, and ensuring that there was some 'legacy' from the vanity project that was the Olympic Games in 2012. The Olympic Stadium was never going to be a viable commercial option because it was designed only for athletics events. And the only way to ensure that it didn't lie empty - hence betraying the 'legacy promise' - was to do a deal with a football team.

Both the much hated mad doctor Felix Mengele and the much loved but out of his depth Kit were allowed the benefit of a close season to assemble their own teams. Fair enough. So why shouldn’t Slav? He had no say over the loss of Malone or Aluko and made absolutely clear that the “two tick” basis on which new signings were to remade was one tick only..Cline’s tick! . Consequently he now finds himself managing high fan expectations, with a raft of players thrust on him, all of which have one thing in common..they are not good enough. The seriously hard time he’s had was laid bare on October 30. I cant believe that anyone posting here is unaware of the shenanigans of that day..but just in case here’s the link.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5050295/Moneyballs-Craig-Kline-stats-madness-Fulham.html I appreciate the criticisms of low morale and apparent “lack of effort” but it cant be easy when you’ve had to put up with the rubbish he has had to endure from further up the food chain. My feeling is that with a good budget and a lot more control over the next close season transfer window the current manager will deliver. Sorry about this season folks, ...but the long term forecast remains bright!

SOUTHAMPTON AT HOME!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSS

We're out of the running for a play-off place, so a decent FA Cup run will be some compensation. And with Saints looking forward to nothing more than a lower mid-table finish, hopefully they'll be thinking along same lines and will want to put out a decent first eleven. Last time they came to the Cottage in 2014, Lallana and Lambert terrorised our defence - they've gone, the current team doesn't score goals like that side, so that should even up the odds. Rather looking forward to this one.

Err....Southampton do not score goals regularly Have you not heard with Charlie Austin, who Fulham FC could have bought from QPR for a song has scored three goals in his last two games!!!

Charlie Austin...4 goals to date. Same number that Johansen, Sessegnon and Norwood have each scored!

We are at home right? No FA Cup run for us then.

He was not a first team regular until after he scored a hatrick in the last friendly against us.

I still fancy a decent league run, more than a cup run. I will give up on the league championship when it is mathematically impossible, until then, the league is the priority for me.

Get your priorities right, what good would a cup run do, thisd is a game we do not need, a pure inconvienience and interruption. Survival in the league is the main thing.Have you noticed attendance figures have dipped now by over 2000 on last season.

It will be the usual struggle as every single home game is these days.

FFC are heading downwards. Should miss the drop but by how much? We need a central defender and a left back. We need a striker and a goalkeeper. Just 4 positions to fill but that is more than a third of the side. I have stopped watching FFC after more than 70 years. I know when I am being taken for a mug. Stay home and watch Chelsea and Spurs. Two London clubs that play good football. Worth watching. Brentford, Burton Albion? You must be joking. Goodbye SJ and the Khans.

Could be a very good move Willie. It’s like Ernie Clay all over again, ruining our club with their in fighting and machinations. Being a proper SW6er have always supported Chelsea, alternate Saturdays, so have a fall back situation, which the numb nuts will criticise, but hey, at least I got a team who have a genuine desire to win games. As for Spurs, they’re London so don’t have a problem following their progress. Fulham were beating them a few seasons ago, when will that happen again?Sad, very sad and we’ve got posters still trying to support the un- supportable. Mind Cairney, who didn’t kick a ball at Griffin Park thinks they played well until Odoi got sent of........in your dreams. See you down the Bridge:)

You are RIGHT ....any side that has the lead but is unable ever to win the game from a leading position is not going anywhere. Because you do not surrender that which you have in professional football. We simply cannot defend a lead. From this point of view we have to send Mr Kalas back to Chelsea and start signing a Defence that is capable of Championship level defending and are 100% Fulham and not some other clubs players. Goal keeper, we have an England Under 21 goal keeper why is he not getting a look in?
