Losing 5 games in a row is pretty poor, but they were all against teams now in the top 12 in the table, and we were missing over 50% of our best team. So I do hope we are not going to get too panicky a reaction. Having said that, I think we badly need a left back as quality full backs, going forward and defending, is a crucial part of the way we set ourselves up.

Against top teams in the top 12? Well that's ok then. There are only 7 others you idiot! That is typical of what's happening on the pitch, an unrealistic reliance on poor players in ALL parts of the pitch. Baird is reverting to type and dragging Murphy down with him, who BTW, has been awful for the last 5 games. Duff, is all huff and puff with no substance. Please don't go blaming Kelly who was drafted in the left back place, everyone knows his left peg is only for standing on. Nevland is about to be offered a new contract when he should be offered the door. It is a sad state of affairs when Gera comes on and looks like our best player..
Yes we are missing Dempsey, Johnson(perhaps although I'm not convinced)Davies, Pantsil and Etuhu but we are supposed to have a squad and what we have is a first team and a bunch of no hopers. It just shows how lucky we were last year with having a settled side and few injurys. It is starting to look like another relegation scrap this year as we are starting to drop points all over the place. This is when Woy gets to earn his bonus again..

if we pick up 3 points against pompey things will calm down again but ill be worrying if we lose. We clearly lack depth to the team, i dont have any problem with Kelly, he's a decent reserve right-back, but why we dont have a backup left-back is bizarre. We should look to do some business in the market and bring in a good left0back and have Konch as a reserve. In fairness to Murphy he is playing week in week out and given his age we really need to find a replacement so we can rotate murphy and keep him fresh for when we really need him. Also Murphy looks particuarly light away from home and theres no coincidence this poor run of form has come after a string of away games. With some injuries coming back and a few points on the board we'll be climbing back up the table as there are plenty of worse teams than ours
