after an extremly bleak january febuary has been fantastic for us. I think we played extremly well yesterday.
Whilst Shaktar dominated the stats in terms of possession, corners and shots i think we did well in limiting their threat. When they tried to play through the centre we were able to breakdown their attacks or limit them to long range efforts which Schwarter, with perhaps a couple of exeptions, handled with ease.
On the wings they looked more dangerous, especially when they got to the byline, but i thought hangeland and hughes performed well and both Kelly and Baird did a good job in cutting out the crosses when they had the oppertunity.
When Daniel Costa came on for Shaktar they suddenly seemed to have an extra element of danger and the last twenty minutes were edgey to say the least. But for all Shaktars pretty play i think we were fantastically well organised, our shape when they had possession was almost perfect. Zamora did a good job upfront and Gera helped link up well, when Elm came on for BZ i was delighted with how well he did. With Elm linking well with Gera we looked more likely to see the game through and in fact had Gera finished his chance late on we would have had another win.
Murphy's red was disappointing, i dont think it was particuarly dirty and was probably only a yellow, especially given the challenge on Duff seconds earlier, but he asked for trouble and we'll miss his experience against Juventus.
Great game and a point or more at Sunderland would cap a brilliant month. All this without Dempsey and Paintsil, i think Dempsey in particular has been a real miss as Baird has deputised so well on the right when called on to do so. COYW

I was puckering a couple of times when costa had the ball, really annoyed me though when itv4s commentary were saying what a great scouting system Donetesk have, they bought him for £6mil from gremio, basically they just know the brazilain league well its not like they plucked some young brazialian off the beach. And itv once again were incredubly patronising about fulham, at one point they said we were hanging on in the tie when in fact we were winning 3-1 at that point, not a comftable 3-1 but not 'hanging on' either. Definitly has been a great month, be nice if the lads who were slagging off the team could comment on this result, maybe even accept things are going well? bet they dont though

yea its the same on every channel, hansen on last weeks MotD really annoyed me, but itv are are possibly the worst. Imagine what they'll be like during the Spurs game, no doubt they'll talk of 'plucky little fulham' fawn over Spurs and give Defoe a verbal bj. Never changes
